Matt--Running a 220 Volt twin cylinder air compressor to provide compressed air for a tiny steam engine to sharpen my pencil somehow doesn't make a great deal of economic sense.Old guy hot rodder

yea, dosn't make a lot of of sense. considering that an electric pencil sharpener would take much less power. A mechanical sharpener driven off of a cam would look cool tho.
What about taking a small permanant magnent motor from a cheap toy, hooking a pully up to it an a small lightbulb or LED from the wires to make a small generator?You don't know what you've got til it's gone
