Only by his personal choice. Perhaps his stepping away to clear his head is a good thing. he may be back, again the word "may" is the key. Again, his personal choice. Either way, we all wish him well.

I've been a member of this forum for a few years now and have yet to see one post by Tech or Denny that wasn't right on the money. We all have our opinions as to how some problem should be addressed, and they may be different from another person's solution, but that doesn't make it wrong. There have been times I have given some advice and had it countered by someone else, that is just how it goes in this hobby..........everybody is an "expert" ( )

It became apparent to me early on that there were some members of this forum whose advice came from real, hands on experience. On issues like engine building and subjects like that I always defer to their superior knowledge. Denny was one of those people as is Richard (Tech). They know their stuff and freely give assistance from their heart to try to help people out. There is no personal gain for them to do these acts of kindness, simply the satisfaction of knowing they have kept someone out of trouble or saved them some money.

I too hope Denny returns. I know he gets a little upset sometimes, but hell, so do the rest of us, including me. But there is no denying he has enriched this forum for a long time, as has Richard and many other members.

Dont know if I would go that far about Tech but I definitely trust his word. I dont think he would post on something he did not know about.
Denny on the other hand was also VVEERRYY helpful to me ,and others, with no B.S.. Or you know the usual B.S. be he did not try to steer you/me wrong. Hope he left for awhile to give himself a break and plans to come back. I have left more times than I can count , but always come back.
Forums are like everyday life theres the good and bad in people .People who are a-holes sometime and people who are a-holes all the time with nothing better to do with their time but point fingers and try their damnest to prove you wrong.

By this I assume you refer to the alternative site you and Denny are responsible for.

I have a slightly different view. If Denny were to return that would be fine with me. When it came to things mechanical he was in his element, on other matters not so much. Not a trait unique to him, common to most of us. If he chooses to promote his other site that's fine too, although poaching from this site is somewhat lame in my view. That being said if those who join over there do so of their own volition that's the the way the world turns.

This site started from nothing over 7 years ago. Through the efforts of a few pioneers it built to a thriving level. It has survived the defection of a goodly number of people, some who contributed value, some who didn't. No single person will make or break a site (well other than the one who is responsible for maintaining a stable and functional platform). It did well before Denny joined, it can, and should, after his departure. Again if Denny decides to return fine, otherwise others will step in to fill whatever gap is left, if any. Either way may he live well.
