    Good News

I guess we should all feel good that there have been no stories of folks siphoning gas (like back in the 70's!).

But I am not sure if that is because folks are more ethical today or the X-Y Geners are just lazier and richer!

I saw a news story last night that rural storage tanks, typically farmers, are having thousands of gallons of diesel stolen. The sheriff's deputy interviewed speculated it was over the road truckers, but he had no proof.

There was a story out here a couple weeks ago about someone with an enclosed trailer loaded with storage tanks and a pump. They would pull up in a gas station, drop a hose into the stations storage tanks and pump away until their tanks were full.

In our complex here at work, they don't bother w/ a siphon hose- they just punch a hole in bottom of gas tank! Trucks & vans mostly but talk about an expensive repair!

Yikes, I haven't heard of that happening around here yet, but I may just be un-informed!

People seem to always disappoint, but never surprise!

Hey Bob..don't you remember the guy in Gig area and in Tacoma that was taking gas from closed stations....filling up his 55 gal. drums in back of a pickup,,,,finally caught him. Also, I'd watch my lic. plates.if I were after cheap gas...I'd steal plates, put em on my car, then gas up and run. They's be looking for the plate's owner.....

We are starting to see more and more of that around here. That is why I keep my car locked up at night and don't drive much any more anyway.
