    Blackhawk helicopter rooftop removal of another helicopter

     



    Some of you know that I work on a Medevac helicopter and the Virginia State Police helicopter had mechanical problems on our hospital rooftop on the 16th floor, and it needed to be removed. We brought in a Blackhawk helicopter to lift it from our helipad. Here are some neat videos of the operation if you are interested.

    Cargo lift is a fairly standard mission for the UH-60 - but it's not seen very often - at least in the civilian world. Nice example of the hard work that our National Guard troops do.

    Cool stuff. When I lived in AK I used to see the sky cranes working. Amazing what those spinning blades can lift.
