drag racing
well, this friday theres an event listed for our track!!! going to borrow my stock car buddies luxirious 1 ton dually and 32 foot trailer WOW! in the big time now and take the nova out for a whirl, 1st time on the new motor. got a bunch of stuff to do today, finish putting in seat fab up some angle brackets for the harness on the floor, go through the carb <i hate that thing with a MAJOR PASSION> lash the valves put the stud girdles on re-torque the heads nut & bolt it <go through it top to bottm check nuts and bolts for tightness> re-torque the wheels go through the front end make sure its all tight etc, tidy up some of the wiring put a rev chip in it for 7800 hook up the electric fan. and if the sponsor chips in, some race fuel and another oil change just to make sure all that breakin crap is out of there, its already on its 2nd oil change. i am meticulous about oil changes, it has FRESH oil before it goes to the track EVERY time. hey it cant hurt ? well theres the beginning of my half a year long saga! well see how she does, do a couple of break in passes 1st shift around 6-65 then let him have it!!!

bummer, scooter! I know you were looking forward to this a long time... and I was looking forward to hearing how your Nova was going to run.
Any chance you can convince the powers that be to get that strip operational?

probably not, everytime that road course/driving school leases it from them they get 10k and they are using alot of it for cops to teach them to drive real nice of them to pull pittman manuevers on the f-ing groove!!!!!!!! they showed it on tv right there on the groove

Scooter, When there is enough interest in motorsports to have a national event right in your hometown , I would say that there's no shortage of enthusiasts to be mobilized to get that strip openened up. Get together with a few other racers, approach all the car clubs, speed shops, parts stores, garages, towing services, etc. Get petitions signed, get publicity and approach whatever entity that controls your track to gat it open to you at least once a week. If there is any problem in your area with street racing, then even the cops should get behind it. Give it a try. Hank

street racing has since quadrupled i live across the street from a park ont he other side is the main drag place i hear 4x more cars than last summer. we have tried that all of the racers and speedhsop owners had a meeting with the county and they lied to us.

Did you simply go there and ask,or did you take petitions signed by a few thousand voters. It's not that hard to get signatures when you present it to them in the interest of public safety. Get a newspaper involved, even if you have to buy the type space. Don't be afraid of starting it with a banner, They Lied . You are up against politicians, they don't like negative press. Who's up for re-election,tell him to get in line, or his opposition just got a few hundred campaign workers and a ton of votes. It never pays to get even, If you spend the energy get way ahead. Hank
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
