good day at a car show
I had not entered any of my cars at shows for over 10 years or so, we were invited to a so called big event on sat. I didn't make it time to enter or get my grand daughter's monty ready, so later that day my wife and I took the monty for a drive to the just to check things out, they wheeled us in, I told the guy didn't enter it in, he said not very many guys showed so just park it
with the rest of the cars, it was HOT!! so we stayed in the shade most of the day, we went in to town to get something to eat, when we got someone was calling me over to come get my prize, ( a set of gold ear rings) cool I said and thank them very much, they had some cool rides here is the one I voted for , you can see the monty in front of it, so it was a good day!!

thanks for the kind words amigos, the monty is back at gramps shop cause I guess someone tried stealing it over where she lives, lucky for gramps secret alarm, so she thought it might be safer here at home for now, here is more pics , the guy who owns this bike is a husker football fans,I mean HUSKER fan,the guy that painted it did a beautiful job, which my camera didn't do any justice to it, we did the seat at our shop for him, he wanted naug. that looked like football skin, we found some that was really close,so we sewed it up for him,

I guess I didn’t know you did interior also, I went to Wyoming to take an auto upholstery class at Wyotech in 1988. I drove a 41 Chevy coupe put new interior in while I was there. It was a 1000-mile trip each way. Before I got too involved in doing interior I got busted up so it’s too hard sitting at the machine. I really enjoyed the interior work after the Coupe I did a 79 Corvette and that was it.
The seat looks really good if you have any pictures of some of your work post some if you don’t mind. Nice work.

thanks Richard, I worked at a plant that manufactured furniture under one of my many brothers they had a opening as a maintenance man working on industrial sewing machines, so after learning how to repair them I learned how to use them, plus all my sisters sew also which helped, when I first got married I use to make some of our kid cloths, then the plant closed and I started my own shop out of my house in 1979,and I have never had a vacation since just some weekends, but I really enjoy working and doing what I do ,

Cool pics.......but is it my imagination or have the laws on windshield hight changed. The last car I chopped was my 34 Ford 3 window and as I recall there was a minimum hight the windshield had to have. That chopped coupe in the picture you posted sure looks like a small area to peek thru!! Dont get me wrong, I think it looks great! But Id hate to do all that work and then get hassled by "the man" everytime I went out for a joy ride....

roofcam, i don't think the guy was going for state colors, the bike is painted as a corn husk, cause the yellow is neatly done to look like corn, like I said my camera didn't do it any justice,( it does look alot better in person)
t42,I don't know if we have laws here about the hight,I'm sure there has or should be for safety reasons, but I don't know them, maybe my twin brother Dave for SD would know, they done a nice job on the chop top,not like some I've seen in the past, my biggest problem I had is where they had it, looked like a cow pasture, dusty, weedy and for sure you had to watch where you stepped..

Eventually the top belt is going to break it has a lot of cracks; I suppose I could find one on ebay. I took a correspondence course for auto upholstery in 1970 but it didn’t work out so well. It was something I always wanted to do so I went for it in 1988 needless to say I was one of the oldest students. Iron working was my trade but I’ve always had a few cars around that needed something, piddled with paint, a little mechanic work just for my own cars. When I worked on other people’s cars it cost me too much. I'm happy for the granddaughter that tey didn't get her car. Take a vacation you deserve one about now.

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
