3" silent mufflers???
We're finishing up another engine (434sbc, 9.5:1, Dart Iron Eagle platinum 230 heads, isky cam 264/264 duration @ .050 .548/.548 lift, Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake, Edelbrock 750cfm carb for now, true dual 3" exhaust) and I've been looking for an almost stock sounding muffler in 3". I know I'll most likely have some resonance because of the pipe size but was wondering if anyone knows what the quietest muffler would be for 3" pipes?
I'm also running electric cut-outs off the headers for truck pulls and mud drags so performance isn't a must but would be nice.
Thanks in advance for any information. Just sorry I don't have more to add besides questions. I usually check in everyday and a lot of my questions have been answered through other's questions.

Not sure if they make them in a 3", but the Maremont mufflers are about the quietest I've ever had....and that was a bunch of years ago.... Think they used to be an OEM supplier????? If not them, then I'm sure Walker makes one that will meet your specs.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Once again Dave comes to the rescue.
I had saw and considered the walker mufflers a while back but wasn't able to find them when I was searching this time. I'll probably call both companies after I get off work tues. morning. Maramont looks like it is still in business and may be part of cherry bomb. Cherry bomb comes up under it's performance mufflers. Thanks again Dave.

I had some Maremonts on a BBF in a pickup, the thing was really, really quiet and still ran strong. Sure didn't act like the quiet muffs were holding it back at all....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

That is good to know. I have a truck and trailer for the truck pulls and mud drags but it still puts in quite a bit of street time, some even as a first response EMS vehicle.
Yep. And I seem to move 1 thing and it displaces something else with 1/2 of that landing on the workbench and then I forgot where I was going with this other thing and I'll see something else that...
