i went to tech, and i must say, there is a bunch of idiots. the people still in highschool mode that have to be part of a group, or try and be the cool one, or just dont care at all...
the way i looked at it, im payin 10's of thousands of dollars to go here, so im gonna make the best outta it.
i took coll/ ref. trim and upholstery, and street rod. i know that all of their diesel classes are really good.
i havent looked into UTI much, but right after i got outta tech i started hearing more about UTI. but yep, just my little insite, dont know anything about diesels, so good luck!!

Take a look at Bates Votech in Tacoma, not the name recognition but a few years back when I did some visiting training there they had a good program.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Scooter, check out their job placement/recruitment. The one with the highest average getting good jobs straight out of school is the one I'd go with. Hank

Don't know anything about Wyo but the UTI around here---we had one fellow that had to look at a bolt and wind his finger around in either a clock/counterclock wise direction to figure out which way to turn it--was funny watching him go from top to bottom of vehicle and try and turn bolts backwards!!!!they turn out a lot of grads that need advance classes to work at Jiffy lube
And I have seen some that were really sharp and I wondered why they had bothered to go to that school as they were pretty good--
Have you thought about the military????When I was drafted in 1963 ( week after JFK assinnation) they made me a tank mech helper!!!!!long story about my military period, may have to write a book someday, but-----
I have heard of some school in Texas thats good and also one down in Nascar land

3 big schools have Diesel programs. Wyotech, Ohio Technical Collage and, Nortwestern...
I don't consider UTI big, because it's just well advertised- also there reps only know how to knock wyotech... Wyotech has a screwed up way of doing class scheduals and for that is not very good... OTC has an excelent diesel program, they actully were a diesel only school when they started.. but the campus is quite dirty and run down, and it is also in a bad neighborhood in Cleveland.. Northwestern has a great diesel program, the buildings are nice and well kept. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

The one Jerry referred to "down in NASCAR land" is probably Nashville Auto Diesel College. They have curriculums in auto and diesel, as their name implies, but also have extra curriculum available that directly targets performance cars & engines and NASCAR chassis. They have a very good reputation here in the southeast and they've been around for quite a while.Jim
