Mozilla-Firefox
Anybody on the forum having trouble with the new version of Firefox? For me everything was loading very slowly and it made a mess out of this site. I got tired of messing with it and couldn't get any satisfaction online, so I went with Flock and it seems to be working well.Ken Thomas

Firefox 3 is still in Beta stages. I have FF 3 Beta 5, and it runs fine for me.. but I run Ubuntu linux, and support for FF goes to linux first.. so being you likely have an older Beta version, it is still likely glitchy.. you can switch back to version 2, and turn off the updates. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

I've been using Seamonkey as I prefer their Mozilla email interface with my old netscape email database (information and emails dating back to 1994)............

Surprises me - I got a Firefox message last week, downloaded it and works fine. The Bookmarks and the header bar have a few interesting changes. I'd try it again - as there was nothing that said it was a Beta version and the release was official July 16.
This is their website with release notes, etc:

I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug

yup, Your right.. 3.1 was released, so version 3 is out of Beta now... Searched it in Synaptic ( application installer/ upgrader ) and 3.1 was available, so I marked the upgrade and it's downloading now... usually the update notifier for FF tells me it has downloaded the update and to restart.. but it must have had an off day this timeYou don't know what you've got til it's gone

When I first downloaded Firefox 3 I had some problems with it, so I kind of put it on hold. Normally I use IE 7 but until some recent patches it had been a pain in the arse. As of now I have kind of forsaken both and have switched to Opera 9.52. Have used Opera for a long time and it just keeps getting better, plus it uses a lot less resources than FF and IE.Bob
