I almost always post a question in at least two forums of the same interest. Usually so I can get the most answers in the shortest time. This forum is probably my favorite for the old car stuff, but not a very fast moving site. (which is one of the things I really like about it!). Also, some of the other forums have a different take on the car scene, and therefore the answers to some questions may have a different angle to them....I will continue to do so cause it's what works for me.....

A good example is when I posted in the wanted section for tail light housings for my 47 coupe....not one response from here or olskoolrodz.....but a guy from the hamb sold me a pair for 50 bucks delivered!! So you see it works to ask around!!...

Also I was just thinking my interests (as most of us) are a little more varied than any one forum. I get a lot of good info here but it is a bit more of a credit card response sometimes, and most of the stuff I like to do is more in the spirit of the 40s-50s when you scrounged the junkyards and modified stuff to work.

You definately have to watch your Ps and Qs over there. Nice guys for the most part; just don't say "ratrod." Welcome!

I do it regularly. Usually just because I like to get a quicker response, you know, more people reading my question the better. Some forums get more action and readers than others.

I should probably not use the same screen name in all the different forums I frequent.

I use the same screen name on all the forums that I am a member of. And one thing I'm sure of...... I never give advise on something that I don't know about. That is my pet peeve with some forum members. Sometimes they don't know what the h_ll they are talking about.

And that's another reason I am a member of different forums, I get a lot of different advice or opinions from a lot more people. When I get the same advice more than once, I know I got the correct advice.

There are no stupid questions. But I've seen some really stupid answers.

Inasmuch as you live in California, living under a rock can be a good thing. Just make sure the rock is not over a fault.

As to the multtiple posts: I have membership at a number of sites, but have never posted the same question on two or more sites concurrently. What I might ask here, I would not ask over on the HAMB. But for the most part I don't see that it would bother me much if someone did. Maybe they just like getting confirming opinions.

And I agree, sometimes it might be necessary to get a quick answer. I have posted on some forums and the question has lingered for days with out a response. Another good reason to have multiple memberships.

I do it. There are a few different reasons for my posting on different forums. I almost never ask for opinions about unimportant stuff, its usually technical.

Each different forum has a different type of focus. That attracts a different type of person with different interests and experiences. I want to hear them all. I evaluate each forums answers differently, yes I judge them.

This judgement is not accurate though. Who know who is realy knowing what the truth is about whatever they are saying. Thats up to me to decide after hearing all the answers and advice given.

This forum I consider to be pretty serous and friendly. I will be coming here more than I have been in recent past. I kinda forgot about this place.

Another forum I frequent is not so friendly but moves very fast and is good for a bunch of really quick answers but dont you dare say the wrong thing. You know the one I am talking about.

Then there is another one that is the one I consider to be MY forum. I kinda know the guys and I feel good there. The problem with that one is its slow and sometimes takes days to get good answers or advice.

    Thats my 2 cents.

I pretty much surf different forums for the reasons Maddog mentions. I get bored real fast, so I keep checking out the different ones to see what's shakin'.

Each forum has a different feel and pace. Some don't have much going on so you have to check back from time to time to see if anything new has been posted, on others you have to go down through the threads to see if you missed anything because they move along so fast.

I've always considered CHR my home forum though, mainly because it was the first one I joined, and I feel I have a lot of friends here. Not to say the other forums aren't great, but I just started here so I check this one first every day. I also tend to stay on forums where the tone is friendly and helpful, versus ones that are confrontational and somewhat cold.
