Don, have to agree with you. The new format sucks, they increased there pricing, you can't leave a negative response and it's a lot harder trying to sellsomething as they more or less dictate how they want it listed.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

You guys can "opt out" of the new format. I hated it too. I opted out and am glad to have the old format back.

Don
I still use Ebay to hunt down hard to find parts, or for the occassional awesome deal, but I will never sell on there again, unless Craigslist fails me. I tried to sell a motorcycle on there and the fees were rediculous. I ate about 100.00 and never got a bid. The besty buys are when someone has a typo or misspelled word, that makes it hard for the search engine to find. Cuts way back on the competition." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

I took a $95.00 bath on a truck I listed for my parents. Some dillhole bid on it and never showed to even look at it. I argued with scam-bay for 6 weeks before giving up on ever getting a damn thing back over it. They hit my credit card for $95.00 and I never even got a kiss out of the deal. I wouold never list another car or truck ever, ever again on there.

As a seller, I prefer paypal. To me it's worthj it because I have my money right away. People who pay with money orders will sometimes take weeks. There are so many new people that just don't realize how it is supposed to work.

Well,
My Wife is a Scrapbook fanatic (surely I'm the only one whose better half has this malady? ), but she bought a Store full of Scrapbook stuff and is selling it on Evilbay-drives me nuts but she is having fun (and, to my chagrin, making money at it).
She has had very few problems so far, and has a score above 750 with 0 negative Feedback, so I would have to say that it's been a positive.
I recently bought a very rare Harley on Ebay and had excellent results-I had been looking for this Bike for Years, and if not for Ebay I probably would have never found it-Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?

Ebay
I have bought a lot on ebay but you always have to be a wise shopper and figure cost plus shipping to see if it's a really good deal. The down side sometimes is if you buy a product and it is defective getting warranty can get ugly, waiting time, shipping costs, etc.I am in that mess right now with an electric fuel pump,3 weeks have gone by and no pump and emails being ignored, will be posting how this comes out and naming the guiltyAs for selling, seller fees are getting out of hand so use them as a last resort,I have had real good luck buying and selling on craigslist,I like being able to post adds here and posting pictures but I have never made a sale here always lots of lookers,no offers.Last edited by JeffB2; 09-29-2008 at 11:25 AM.

Howdy Don! I have to agree with you about Ebay I think its going down hill fast. Didn't know about new owner but that makes sence. Not only is Pay-pal a pain I won't look at items that are marked pay-pal only. I used to go there like everyone else to get a deal but anymore you can just about buy new and do better. Anyway just thougt I'd put in my $0.02 worth. Back to the weeds

I'll still buy some of those hard to find locally parts on EBay, but haven't sold a thing there in a couple of years. Where I live, Craigslist really hasn't taken off well but this may help some. Yes, EBay does own a part of Craigs, are a hostile partner and Craigslist has gone to court fairly recently to try to divest themselves of a board member who is EBay management. Not done yetDave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug

So as this is going on they hit my card for another $118.00 !,.... I email them and tell them they have double charged me, and the trailer never sold ( I didn't even re-list it) but I did go to the bank and ask that they change my debit card numbers. While I am trying to get the double billing thing taken care of, I get a nasty email from ebay that there going to suspend my account if if I don't pay them the $118.00 from the Mullins trailer auction !!!
I scanned a copy of my bank statement showing they had already debited $236.00 for the same auction # from my account and emailed it to them with a request for reimbursement,..... never got a response, just more nasty emails until I was suspended!
I had close to 400 transactions on ebay and never a negative over a 5 year period of time. I talked to several people about it, and they all said I really have no recourse,... I did report it to the Attorney Generals office but they just acted uninterested,.....
Well they say competition is good in a marketplace, ebay, until now has had very little competition in the market,..... I would like to know what other auction sights are out there.Last edited by highboy32; 09-30-2008 at 03:13 PM.

Yep. And I seem to move 1 thing and it displaces something else with 1/2 of that landing on the workbench and then I forgot where I was going with this other thing and I'll see something else that...
