Need help for shrinking pics
Does anyone have a good easy way to shrink pics for the computer illiterate. I just got the puter back from the shop and now I can load pics but I can't make them small to post on this site. I have Picasa2 photo software if that means anything and I shrunk the E-mail pics to 360 and then to 160 pix but that doesn't seem to help for loading them to this site.Seth

Ok, this is going to be like the blind leading the blind, but here is how I do it. Do you keep your pictures in "my pictures" or "my documents?" Either way, after you click on "manage attachments" at the bottom of the screen, and after you click on "brouse", RIGHT click on the picture you want to shrink, and a window will come up. One of the choices will be "edit". LEFT click on "edit" and a window will come up at the top of the screen with several choices. Select "stretch and skew". Another window will open with 100% Horizontal and 100% vertical. If your pictures are like 1000 size, you want them to be about 700, so change both horizontal and vertical to 70% each, and click OK. Close that out and it will ask you if you want to keep the changes you made, click YES. Now you can click select and upload and the smaller sized picture should be downloaded to your post. You will need to do that with every picture individually.
See if that works while I take a nap after all that typing.

I use one called pixsizer and it works pretty easy. Just Google it and you can find the free download.

Here is the best way if you have no special program, once you do it a few times its a snap. The link is to a pearl drums forum page describing in detail the process. If you can not view it I will try and walk you through it, let me know!

I have found that if your camera has different pixel settings that if it has VGA mode. if you set your camera on that setting, you will not have to resize your pictures it make them computer friendly for quick emails and loading on to this site right straight from your computer. jonathan

Vista still has "paint" as part of the package. Open paint, choose "image", then choose "resize". No need for special programs, up/downloads, basically what Pops referenced.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
