Could it be that your mail box is FULL??????
Have you deleted your old mail????
My mom had this problem & it ws due to the fact her email server only allowed so many emails to be stored....joeDonate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE

no extra junk stored there, a few folders and stuff but certainly nothing substantial enough to fill it..... As far as what it is, sez Windows Mail, same thing I've been using since I got the new 'puter.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I havn't used windows as my main OS in just under a yr now.. but it sounds like a new version of outlook express, in which case, check to see what kind of spam filtering you have going on... it sounds like Vista, which will change things on it's own. XP even does it to a degree, just not as much...You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Hoping you'd be on tonight Matt. I have Vista, btw, came with the puter.... Still don't know if I inadvertently changed something, or just a glitch with Vista????? Wish I wasn't so dumb on these puters, but when I was in school we still used slide rules!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

No error messages. Interesting. I'm on XP at work right now, so I'll have to wait to when I get home to check Vista menu bar for further help. Can you go to your web browser's home page and check for mail by logging in there? Sometimes they have internal problems and don't foward mail. Try to pm me also to see if your email is being sent. If not their might be something like a virus that is causing trouble. Some viruses cut you off from email or the net entirely, so next I'd try running an antivirus program. I'll also p.m. you to see if any email can get thru. Hope this helps, Steve. Last but not least reboot the computer and check all internet connections if you use cable or DSL. Also it helps to unplug the router for about 30 seconds, and then back in. this will reboot the router which has been the cause of all of my email troubles for the last two years.Last edited by stovens; 10-24-2008 at 11:08 PM.

check to see if you clicked the " work offline " button, most of the email programs it's on the file menu.. you can also check the account settings and make sure the pop and SMPT addresses are still correct..
Vista can change things on it's own, it does what it thinks it needs to, to make the computer run better.. but the problem is, that function is glitched and it does not work right...You don't know what you've got til it's gone

I'd call the tech service line for your ISP, either they have a glitch or the settings Matt mentioned need resetting.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
