Congratulations, I think!!! 65 HUUUUM man now thats a number. Its getting damn close for me as well. You know this aging thing is really kind of funny when you think about it. I will be 64 this year but in truth I don't think I feel all that different "INSIDE" oh I have the genereal pains and such, after 30 years in the Corps some parts seem to need a little more time to get the blood to pumping than others but all in all I wonder were the years went. The one big surprise every morning is when I look in the mirror and wonder just who in the hell is that Old Man looking back at me.
Have a good day man and don't look in that mirror--- At Least not today.
RolandProtected people will never know or understand the intensity life can be lived at. To do that you must complettly and totally understand the meaning of the word "DUCK"

Thanks Guys. Dave, yes I do have some pull in the SS Dept. as my sister in law works there. Get my check 4 days after turning 65. Roland, I know what you mean. Where I screwed up my body even though I was only in my early to mid 20's was boxing. I boxed for two and a half yearsprofessionally and did my shoulders and hands some damage that never recovered. Then on top of that bad back, knees etc. but as the say ing goes,"I'm still here and doing what i've done all my life" so that ain't to bad at all. My grandmother lived to 101, my grandfather 91, and my Mom just turned 90 so maybe the saying that you inherit your genes from your family members must have some truth behind it.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

Happy 65th to you. It's just a number, I remember a time in my life when I thought 40 was old. My 30th was my most depressing because I was no longer "young."
George Burns summed it up. Someone once said to him "Who the h*** would want to live to be 100??" His answer " A guy who is 99."
Have a piece of cake for us, Happy Birthday.

Another great thread...
I am continually amazed at how many people in this wonderful country have the mistaken idea that somewhere between 55 and 60 people become "obsolete".. I want to peak when I'm 85! I think the best years are those I'm living right now.
Sure, there's a few things that I may not do as well as I did when I was 19 or 20 (some I probably should not of done even then!), but for the most part I enjoy every day as a great gift and want to continue to contribute accordingly.
Like all of us on this site, I've had my share of bad days and a few rotten hands dealt my way, but I refuse to go to the lowest common denominator, rather, like Chevy37 - I'm gonna just "keep on keepin' on!"
Congratulations on another milestone! Lord willin' there will be lots more!
Regards,
Glenn

Happy birthday
I'm only 63, but recently while trying to get up off the floor, one of the younger guys ask me if old age had sneaked up on me. I said " NO, it came crashing through the door hollering "here I am an I'm gonna kick your a@@". Then it proceeded to do just that."
To many years of being beat up by heavy equipment and trucks.theres no foo like an old foo
