Well, not quite a win... Kevin Harvick "survived" til the last lap and got the win... All the usual Shootout action, lots of 3 wide and some 4 wide racing..... No points, but a win is a win!!! Smoke got 3rd... 75 laps with 15 different leaders, could be a very interesting Daytona 500!!!!!Last edited by Dave Severson; 02-07-2009 at 08:29 PM.

Thought it was interesting in the post race show on Speed they had the graphic on owners who've won the most Buds.................no Roush.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

I watched it with folks that I'm trying to get interested in the sport... The boys did not dissappoint... Plenty of action and no boring F1 style finish... Looks like I'll be at the track on thursday for the twins...I remember when hot rods were all home made.

I much prefer to see the 500 on TV(you see the racing a whole lot better)....I have a friend who got us UPS hospitality suite tickets last year for the twins. He will know by tuesday if we are gonna do it again this year. It was a good deal last year because it got cold and we went inside and watched thru the glass.. The free food and beer is a good deal as well..It's a 4 hour hike each way but I don't mind it once a year.I remember when hot rods were all home made.

Yep. I had the pleasure of being in the pits in the July '91 race when D. Waltrip flipped down the back stretch. Rutman got up against Waltrip and I have Rutman's fender from that wreck out in my garage.
Awesome Bill won the race and I was in his pits when he went accross the finish line.
It was a great experience, but the only racing I got to see was when they flew by on the front stretch....LOL! I got a ton of autographs that weekend. But the highlight would have to be when I got to go into the King's hauler and sit in the lounge with him and talk to him. He really is a good ole boy.Go Hokies!!!!!! ACC CHAMPS '04,'07,'08

Nascar
A lot of people are not crazy about the "cookie cutter" cars we see these days. For a special event I would like to see a "Good 'Ol Boys" shootout 100 laps with drivers from the past(the over 60 guys) in cars that represent the era when men were men and you could tell a Chevy,Olds,Mopar or Ford at first glance.Petty,Pearson,Waltrip, and my main man Cale and more, gettin' it on would be a real thrill.

Wonder if I can get stock in Hendrick Motorsports. They should have a banner financial year considering nearly half the field seems to be running Hendrick motors.
Maybe NASCAR should change it's name to NAHMR (National Association for Hendrick Motor Racing).
At least Rick seem to have fun out at Scottsdale scooping up Barrett Jackson collectibles.Bob
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail....but a true friend will be sitting next to you saying..."Damn....that was fun!
