    interesting oil news

According to the article listed on the link, there is enough oil under our ground priced @ 16 bucks a barrell to last us 41 years. Keep in mind this information is from the U.S. Geological Society!

a MILLION gallons under the rocky mountains, FDR declared it an 'emergency' reserve.

LARGEST RESERVE IN THE WORLD is under GULL ISLAND off Alaska's coast

BUT.. it looks like the DAKOTAS might put Gull island to shame.

    Yeah, we got oil.

Think we are running out? That is what the powers to be WANT you to think.

The USGS did an initial study back in 1999 that estimated 400 billion recoverable barrels were present ...

and it would be at least 5 years till any of it hit the market as gasoline or diesel.... Lack of refineries is another part of the problem...

I've been hauling fuel for 20 some years, and Dave hit the nail on the head.
Most of the existing refineries got some much needed revamps last year.
Every time the oil campanies ask about building a new refinery, every one
starts screaming they don't want it in thier back yards. These tree huggers
are always making a big fuss. The refineries we do have are almost allways
running a full speed. But it's been so slow the last 6 months that drivers that
normally do 3 & 4 loads of fuel a day are only getting 1 load now.
They need to be able to build some new refineries and loading terminals.
I've seen them tear down three loading terminals in Tampa,Florida.
And they have not built a new one in 20 some years.
Plus there are also some greedy people in the oil business. Kurt
