    Paint ideas?

I have a bright red '41 Willys coming for graphics. The owner has asked about flames, but I am trying to come up with something to recapture the feel of those racecars of the era. It's got a blown smallblock, so the "BB/GS" class markings seem like a possibility. Lace painted panels come to mind.....and 'flake....maybe a name in gold leaf?

Any other ideas? How about names?

Pat, Yes! the Gasser Wars took place in the late '60s, and into the '70s. Some of them even had Psychedlic style graphics!

81husky, I went to Indy from '62 to '74, so I got to see all of the big dogs shoot it out, before the funnycars took over the "ultimate production bodied racecar" title. S-W-C, Ohio George, Jack Merkel, Gene Altizer, Mazmanian, Skip Hess, Kohler Brothers, K.S. "Tiger" Pittman, and on and on! That was some exciting guardrail-to-guardrail racing!
