All right - time to come clean. Sunday (29th) was my birthday making me an almost April Fools baby. I had these photos for some time and recently found them and thought of this as a - well fun. (tongue-in-cheek)

Yes it really is a 'Q' code 428 convertible, and yes I did own it for a while. It had 55,000 miles and I bought it in a small town in Iowa and drove it home. It was one of the coldest trips I have ever made. Buying a convertible in October and driving it home - yes with the top down! Only stopped twice by the Hi-way Patrols!?!?!?!

My Great Uncle was a pilot with the U.S. Army Air Corps in WWII and was shot down and is listed as MIA. I never met him.

It really is my Gradfather's garage and my Dad and I had to clean out his property (7 of 8 lots on a half city block) after he died in 1993. We had just moved a '56 Pontiac out of that space when I decided to back the 'vert in and take some pics. The Pontiac went down to Nebraska.

After I got married, the Mustang ended up in Canada in about 1996 . Yes one of those things I guess! It needed some work, but was all there. I bought it for a song and sold it for about the same song. About $6 grand. Do I wish I had it today! I had a loan and had it about half paid off when I got married, but we needed money to buy a house and make payments. . . .??

Sorry to have gotten you all stirred up about this.

Lets see, setting in an open shed with tire tracks leading in, couple cardboard boxes laying on the hood with no water damage, appears to have been recently washed and waxed. I call bull

Paint looked too slick to have been a "barn find" and all 4 tires were up... shame on you!! :-)

Here's a real barn find.... The owner found it in a barn outside of Beresford, SD and is having us build it for him.... Man, in 45 years of Hot Roddin', I have never had the privilege of starting a project with a car this nice!!!! Walt, the owner, is doing quite well selling the original drive train, axles, wheels, etc. to defray some of the costs on the build....
