in my small town pop. 3200 there is very little crime. once in a while you hear of a drug bust where they are funneling drugs to our local cities. part of the reason for the low crime rate is that most of the people in our town are hunters with personal carrying permits and we look out for each other. i do not carry because i do not have too.BARB

I live 70 miles north of there in a hayseed little town called Foley Mn.. Sure we have incidents but nothing like St Cloud or the Twin Cities I used to live at 28th and central in north Mnpls -NEVER AGAIN! I never even lock our cars or house. Although that is significantly lower than the national average. Sex offenders are everywhere even here in this small town. But frankly some of those are 13 to 17 yo teenage girls getting caught w 18-22 YO mentally underdeveloped boys (I know of several of that type of thing happening mostly AFTER the girl got knocked up. Sort of a revenge deal by the girls parents. Another was a child porn bust, a guy i knew from my bartender days , but he always was a freak. it was only a matter of time.) Thats not to say that we should NOT publicly execute every child killer and habitual offender,WE SHOULD! WHY should I pay to support these parasites.Last edited by Dgas56; 01-31-2010 at 01:32 PM.
Attended my first drag race in 1961 and hooked on cars ever since.

Sorry Bobby, That makes me sick. I had a cousin that went through a couple years of that. We finally convinced her that it was not O.K. and convinced him the same, different tactics used on him though. The bad thing is if you shoot him you will be the one in trouble.

I live 55 miles from Indianapolis population 800,167, there is a homocide there almost every day. Crime is real high there. Across the board it is above the national average in every crime tracked. Statisticly 1 of every 130 people will be involved in a crime there.
I was involved in a crime there in December 2008, when I went to retrieve my lost father in law in gang land area gas station. If I had not had my gun. Myself and my wife would probably not be here today. It was not reported, no shots were fired evryone got out clean except for the several guys underwear that were rendered stupid after they saw first hand I was carrying and a very willing participant to the festivities. I am not proud of it, I am just happy I had trained myself for its someday use.
F.B.I. reports from 2008 alone in Indy, I lost my breathe when I read this.
murder 107
rape 420
robbery 2,828
assult 3,714
burglary 10,062
larceny or theft 27,891
car theft 7,433
arson 499
property related crimes totalled, 51,705
They are starting to drag there butts down here to start trouble now. A few months ago someone there bought a set of rims off craigslist from Indy. They came here and had a shootout in a busy resturaunt parking lot to get the rims free. Brilliant who is gonna notice that. I wish I could move but financially I cant, held here by money.
I live in a town of 150,000, and across the river is Purdue University with the population of another 50,000 there. There are many crimes not reported, for instance. A friend of mine was driving home from work at 2:00 A.M. 3 weeks ago. A purdue student jumped from a bridge and splatted on the highway, he was first on the scene. It never made the papers or the news.

Moon I agree so many are not reported unless they are rating certified . I wish we had the right to carry would slow down a lot of the Chicago crime .

i live in a town of about 300 or so . every truck has a rifle or 2 in the window. our only problems arise form folks sending their worthless ass kids to stay with relatives . they don't last long. they try their little gang crap and some cowboy kicks their ass. we still wave when we pass and stop to help someone in need. but we are armed. we have livestock to protect from predators. i'm never far away from a firearm. shop , house ,truck but it is normal. i don't even pay attention to it . i absolutely hate going to ft worth for anything. how i ever lived in that cesspool i'll never know. don't know the answer but guns aren't the problem. people are. here gun control is hitting what you aim at.
You've not been around here for a while, Charlie, but when you were you had GREAT projects!! Happy Birthday!!
Happy Birthday Charlie Fisher!
