Kids still are known to get in a good old fist fight in the parking lot after school---then probably leave being best of friends again. Not a lot of crime, the usual BS stuff but nothing serious...No muggings or shootings around here for the last 30 years I've been in this area. I suppose most every house in town has a gun or three in them, they come out for hunting season and the target range, but not for settling a disagreement with a neighbor.
I hate the cold weather, but I guess maybe it's worth putting up with if it keeps all the problems away. Living in a town that's a bit old fashioned isn't all bad...and the whole state of South Dakota has fewer people then a lot of big cities... Respect for other people is still an issue here---well, respecting people that deserve respect that is.... Just a matter of what's important to a person, I guess... I sure wouldn't give up my laid back, relaxed life style to go live in some crime ridden big city where everybody has to carry a gun just to feel safe.... No job or amount of money would be worth it to me....
