It took a Godfather, a Priest & an act of God

Sooooooooo on Monday the 23rd Joe's Godfather asked if I wanted to go see Joe & surprise them & of course I said YESSSSSSS! ! ! ! ! !
So the "Godfather"(James, one of my best friends) gets on the phone & talks to his nephew "The Priest"(Ryan) who happened to have a huge amount of Frequent Flier Miles and told him about me wanting to go see Joe after he returns to the US & ask if he could spare some miles to get me there & back. Ryan told him "Of Course I will". So Tuesday night at 8PM I got a ticket via Washington DC to Raleigh/Durham airport.
Before I left James handed me 2 of the new gold dollar coins for good luck & told me rub them together for good luck & to have fun. While at St Louis airport waiting to leave I got them out a couple of time & rubbed them together for luck. As I sat there they called me to one of the gates & asked me if I would like to leave early so I could get to Raleigh/Durham airport earlier then my 1st flight, which of course I said yes too.
I leave St Louis & head towards Chicago. When I land I found out it was going to be a LONGGGGGGGGGG walk to my next flight(at least a half mile)only to be pleasently surprised they had a shuttle bus that would take me there.
I get on the plane and away we went, totally w/both flights I might have been in the air 2.5hrs. I arrive at Raleigh/Durham airport and had to wait for one of Joe's friends, which would be a 4.5hr wait. As i sat there Nate(Joe's friend) calls me to tell me he was on his next flight & would be there in about an hour. As we talked I got another call from a 800number which I thought was odd. I told Nate to hold on & took the call. It was United Airlines calling me to tell me my flight from Washington DC to Raleigh/Durham airport had be canceled due to the weather. I started to laugh out loud & clicked back over to Nate & he asked me what was so funny & I told him what had just happened.
So my trip was truly happened because of "a Godfather, a Priest & an Act of God.
The trip was fast because Joe still had to work, but we did get to go out w/some of the guys to party & Joe, his girlfriend, Nate & myself went out to eat last night. Sorry but I didn't get any pics but Joe, his girlfriend & Nate took some & as soon as I get them I'll post the few they took.......joe

    Joe,
That is a GREAT story, and it tugs at the heartstrings to see good things happen for good reasons. I am so glad that you were able to make the trip, and hope that you told your son 'Thanks' for his service from us.
