    Oldies List

Thought I'd list these so that if any of you collect, you'd at least know the name and Artist so you could search.
I actually have all of these on Reel to Reel and just got them converted to MP3s
I'll bet that anyone who went to HS in the early to mid 60's will recognize at least 80 percent of those listed.
I kinda cheated though...besides living the 60's scene, I also had a copy of all of the top 40s listings for the entire decade.

I've also been putting them to good use.

I've been haunting "Utube" to not only hear the music, but sometimes you can see the original groups perform the number in videos transfered from old tapes, like American Bandstand.

Nothin' like watching Chuck Berry hop across the stage, or Linda Ronstadt knockin' 'em out, the Temptations, Eric Clapton, Lynard Skinnard, etc, etc, etc, ..............................

Or check out www.tropicalglen.com for a great jukebox with the top 100 hits from every year from the '50s on up! Just start it up, then open your next window on top, and it will play the top 100 randomly for the year you choose.

....I think I need to do that now. :-)

Nice job on the list of oldies. Really like the Olds very nice. It would be like to see more of it.

    Thanks

    Richard

    Thanks for the complement.
I've been pretty lazy recently, even though I've had some upgrades done so I went through the site and added some pages of the buildout at,

Great bunch of tunes for an OF like me to sit and listen to in my dotage - oh and the car, fantastic. Always had a soft spot for that vintage Olds (tho the '55 is my all time favorite with the swoopy side trim)

The headers really did make a big difference the car looks absolutely beautiful. I’m sure it rides as good as it looks also. I don’t think a person that has a love for cars is so intent to get their car in a magazine but if it happens it’s like icing on the cake. Great car you have something to really be proud of.

Dogtag, thanks for the music info. Yeah, I remember most of those and a few more that didn't make the list. Music wise, I just have not been able to escape the 50's. My wife, who wasn't born until 1958, just isn't into it like me, so I have to appease her with some 70's stuff thrown in. Actually not bad music, just not as good as tthe 54 - 67 stuff.

HRP thanks for the juke link, I'll have to explore it more. A juke box that I have always liked only has 75 songs is the one at http://www.msra.com (Minnesota Street Rod Association) host of the annual Back to the Fifties event.

I have a great many of those tunes on either 45's or CD's or both.

It's just that this music takes you back instantly to a time when you were just starting out. Takes you back to your first car and, perhaps a lot of firsts...LOL
Every time I get in my sled, on goes the oldies and by the time I pull out of the driveway, I'm 40 years away.
