    Angry Democracy

this is a rant, inspired by another thread which may indeed cause the board moderators to censor me, an if that's the case then it is what it is.

THIS (UNITED STATES OF AMERICA) IS A REPUBLIC. IT IS NOT A DEMOCRACY.

Democracy is a politically correct description of MOB RULE. The individual and certainly the minority has NO RIGHTS except those granted by the majority.

ONLY A REPUBLIC guarantees the rights of the individual.

Try saying the pledge of aliegance once in a while. You can convolute it by leaving out UNDER GOD if you like, but it won't change the fact that you pledge aliegance to a REPUBLIC.

If you can't figure it out, then go discuss it with Rosie O freaking Donnel because she doesn't get it either.

Well, not quite. Republic actually denotes a leader who is elected by the citizenry, and not heridiatry......

    Britannica Concise Encyclopedia: republic
Top Home > Library > Miscellaneous > Britannica Concise Encyclopedia

Form of government in which a state is ruled by representatives elected by its populace. The term was originally applied to a form of government in which the leader is periodically appointed under a constitution; it was contrasted with governments in which leadership is hereditary. A republic may also be distinguished from direct democracy, though modern representative democracies are by and large republics.

I can remember when it didn't say "Under god" in the pledge. I'm thinking that was added in the fall of 53
