Man, this is bad.....
Tonight is the last night for Manzanita Speedway, it's gonna be a parking lot for some dang construction company!!!! rumors of a new one being built, but I have to wonder if the money thing won't kill it....?????
Used to be one of my favorite places to head to in the spring. When we're freezing still up here, the racing is going great in the Pheonix area.... Watching the CRA cars out there was great!!!! USAC and WOO also ran there quite a bit. Just hate to see another great facility like Manzy get turned into a parking lot...... BummerYesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Learning must be difficult for those who already know it all!!!!

Progress???
That made me sick when I heard about Manzanita.. That was one of the best dirt tracks I have ever been to..I remember when hot rods were all home made.

Then add all of those big and little Eastern dirt and asphalt ovals that are pre and just post WW2 that disappeared;
Langhorne
Trenton
Then locally near me:
Victoria
Pine Bowl
Route 66 (NY)
White's Beach
Empire
and lots more
But still going strong after 50 years or so:
Albany Saratoga (Malta-less then 5 miles)
Fonda Speedway NY (35 miles away)
Lebanon Valley NY (40 miles away)
Stafford Springs CT (100 miles)
Thompson CT (125 miles)
These are some of the tracks that I have frequented - and have even driven a couple of the smaller local tracks back in the flathead daysDave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug
Getting closer on this project. What a lot of work!
