I think if every car lover on here were to fill out a "likes" and "dislikes" form no two forms would be exactly the same. We all have our preferences and also things that we don't give a d*** about. Some like only steel cars, others love glass ones, some think a sbc in any car is overdone, others love em, some think only steel that came from Henry's factory is worthy, others wouldn't fight old rust and like ones from people like Brookville, etc., etc., etc. But that is just human nature and extends into every area of our lives.
Last night at the shop I was thinking about this thread and remembered an old cartoon in one of the hot rod magazines. A guy gets a bone stock model T and wants to join an antique model T restorers club. However, the purists there start mocking his car because the thread count on the radiator cap is not exactly what it should be. Long story short, he cuts it up, builds a hot rod out of it, and enjoys his ride with no one caring if it was perfect or not. Maybe we are being as closed minded as the model T guys when we debate what cars should be admitted to any event. After all, it is only a show and will be over in a day or so.

"The ill will towards the NSRA is because of THEIR actions". I don't understand who THEIR refers to. This situation makes me look back at Indy car racing when the IRL split up. Everyone knows how that ended. Everyone lost! Track and car owners, drivers, fans, everyone! Here we go again.

All right guys, I just got in from the nats. went for 4 days living local. I was one of those who did not like what NSRA did and after thursday it looked like they had screwed up big time. But friday the crowd got bigger and saturday even bigger. They said 10108 cars and it was not that bad, Yeah I said ITS NOT THAT BAD. It looked like a big Goodguys show. It was a pretty good mix of cars, still most pre 48. If you stayed home I am sorry to tell you that you missed a good show.wkends

Dont mess with the Model T purist guys. They can be vicious, and when they are, they make all of us look like puppies. Potentially badly mauled puppies
I went on a model T site and mentioned my blown BBC bucket, and Im sure they personally rolled Henry over in his grave just for effect.
I didnt last there too long

I work for a vendor that was there and we were also at 3 other events around the coutry.
We were told there were over 10,000 cars there but under 11,000
So it was down a bit but I can also tell you the 3 other evets we were at in Carlisle, Reno and Orange County were down as well. Some I am sure stayed home due to the 30 year rule but the economy is driving this more so then anything.
Also the number of vendors are down all over for the sam ereason...many vendors just are not around any longer and if so many no longer have trucks/crews on the road.
Much cheaper to touch your customers via email and snail mail.
So I guess we can start an officail 2011 Nats thread now that this one is over

Queens english??we could do it in kiwi english...Noddy Watts is a brilliant guy,,but a bit of a character too,he,along with a lot of FUNLOVING kiwis, like to make their friends squirm a little...but not maliciously,,
Noddy and a large bunch of helpers put on the Beach Hop in a small coastal town each year,we have just had the tenth,a few months ago..ALL proceeds go to charity, and it gets plowed straight back into their community..Noddy spends all his time organizing, and gets the job of finding the give away cars from overseas...OOps,I have done it again..Sorry for the hijack.Micah 6:8

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
