Nsra 2010
Just received this info. I also posted this under event forums.
2010 – The beginning of the Plus years
Beginning in 2010, vehicles thirty years old and older will be accepted for participation at ALL NSRA events.
As we head into our forty-first year, it has become an overwhelming majority of our members who are requesting that we open our events. Most are making the request in order for them to be able to continue to participate as a family – parents, children and grand children. The National Street Rod Association has always been and will continue to be focused on making our events a family activity.
The National Street Rod Association remains committed in our efforts to provide our members the very best!
Please be advised this change begins in 2010 and for this year (2009), only the Richmond, Burlington, Sacramento, and Tampa Nationals will be open to 30 year and older vehicles.Last edited by NSRA905; 04-15-2009 at 11:07 AM.

That sucks.
One of the main reason I like NSRA events is not having to walk past that other stuff to look at what I want to look at.There are two things in life where penetration is really important.....and one of them is welding.

I agree. They should have made it 50 years at least. Now we're going to see events that are inundated with '79-'80 model family station wagons, 4-wheel-drive trucks and other boring junk...Jim

I agree, too. NSRA is probably bending to the pressure of the GoodGuys approach - expand membership by opening events to muscle cars and beyond, but even GoodGuys made their cut pre '72.

Being an owner of both a 50's custom and a 30's hotrod I am not pleased with that decision. It's okay for some events, but I would like to see some stay with the pre-49 theme. Especially those that are already at or near capacity, like York. That info implies that Lou'ville will be newer years as well. That's real hard to believe considering they get 11,000 cars there each year. I don't think they are going to be able to handle an significant expansion unless a lot of rodders decide to quit going to Lou'ville.Bob

Sad day if they change Louisville too. The smaller shows may be ok but at least cut them off at 1972. Its all about the $$$$$$$$$$$.....

Unfortunately, you'll be seeing jacked-up '79 & '80 Monte Carlos and Impalas with 26 inch wheels and 30-series tires. Nah, I'll stay home...Jim

Don't know what will be there, but a Hot Rod is a Hot Rod..... Never did go for the limited by year stuff..... I like to see a complete selection of the Hot Rodding world. The quality of the build, attention to detail, and fit & finish is just a whole lot more important to me then what year it came out of Detroit--or the fiberglass mold for the most part.......Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

OK.... Guess I don't see where the donks will be so attracted to NSRA shows???? Or if some do show up, why it would be such a huge problem to somebody who owns a street rod???? Not sure there is even enough of them around to make up too big of a crowd, from what I've seen, the guys with them prefer to hang out together, anyway.....
Anyway, I think it will bring a variety of different cars to the NSRA shows. It would appear the management at NSRA must be looking for a bit of diversifacation, too.... don't know why, guess you'd have to ask them...
Believe it or not, there's a whole bunch of very, very nice cars built after 1949. Does it really matter what year is if the car itself is if it is a quality built ride???? Besides, so many folks with post '49 cars have been so often offended by the "reverse snobbery" of the NSRA crowd, I doubt they'd bother to show up. Outside of it's own membership, NSRA is no longer thought of in the same high regard as when it started....... Just an observation.... No offense meant....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
