Gonna be an easy weekend for a change.442 went to unemployed body man's house last night for final blocking, epoxy primer and another final check and blocking (Perks of a bad economy for some of us I guess) Sooooo guess I'll get the sprint car off the stand,de winterize it and me and the kid'll push it off for a trip around the block to make sure it'll run before we start racing in the next week or two. Hopefully we can skirt the law again this year All my neighbor woman love it cuzz they say it gets their husbands testosterone levels up,come to think of it mine too,now I figured out what kept getting stuck in the steering wheel spokes every time I got to drive it last year Other than that gotta go to the wifes family fish fry on Sunday So It'll be a good weekend. And hopefully by Monday the 442 will be ready or real close to ready for me to con some poor unsuspecting soul into letting me use thier spray booth after hours.

Dave,Lot's going on in Austin this week end. " THE LONE STAR ROUNDUP" is this week end. Thunder storms are scheduled for today and tomorrow.I went out cruising last night and a lot of the cars were down town on South Congress ,some parked and others cruising. The Continental Club was rocking, live music and all.

I am also preparing myself for the Big 71 Birthday Sat. Man they seem to come around quicker every year. I'll go out to see all the cars at the Expedition Center and enjoy the moment.

Thanks Dave! I've been hoping for one of those all week long! TGIF

Saturday I plan to put the dash back together in the Studebaker, give it a bath and maybe go to the Saturday night cruise at IHOP. Sunday is a Studebaker Driver's club meeting where we have our annual fund raising auction. Then if I get out of that in time I plan to go to a Blues Guitar Showdown with Michael Burks, Tommy Castro and Roy Gains. Weather is supposed to be in the mid 80s so it should be gorgeous.

Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!

Relax, the prosecutor called me this afternoon to say that she has everything set to have the guy charged with criminal theft that thought he needed our money more then we needed another garage. All she has to do is get the Judge to sign the paper. Then next week they will pick him up.

It’s kind of bitter sweat, I have been telling the guy this day would come since we found out he wasn’t going to do what he said would do. Four months of worry for us not knowing what was going to happen, now we know.

I know most everyone knows you have to watch pretty much everything you do that has to do with having someone do work for you. The ironic thing is for 14 years we have only paid to have things that we absolutely couldn’t do our self. We couldn’t pump the septic tank, or cut the huge pine trees getting to close to the house. We decide to pay for a building and then lost everything that we did ourselves to save money.

My faith has been restored if you do the right things the justice system will work. It would have been so much easier for him just to pay what he had taken from us. For sure, while he is in jail we will not get our money but he will have sometime to think about what he did. If you think someone is ripping you off document everything that is going on, time, date, every excuse they give. If I had not been keeping a daily journal since 2001 that my daughter gave me to put a little of what I was doing each day so the grandkids could someday look back and see what papa Dick was doing. I would not have had so much information to give to the prosecutor. My grammar hasn’t improved nor my spelling but I did get the information I needed. Some things happen for a reason, even when this guy gets out of jail he will still owe us what he has taken from us plus he will have a monkey on his back so to speak in the form of a class D felony. So yeah I’m going to relax this weekend.

I gonna try to get the frame up in the Ranchero since it did happen last week like I thought it would.
Ran into some bad metal while grinding it down then a few days of bad weather.
Then one day of bad health, so hopefully it will be in the car before monday.

Im hoping to get the 60 dodge that`s been residing in my shop in paint by tomorrow, then it can go home and free up space for me and Joliet Jake to start on our new frames.

Do as much work on the '65 Dodge as I can squeeze in before we head back north first of the week. Temps supposed to be in the 80s, even though we had a wee bit o' snow on Wed morn.

I'm going to the Donut Derelicts at 5:30 (car show) meet the car club at 7, then go to work and start on the chassis for my sedan. Then a BBQ at my house at 4. Sunday is a car show in Old Town Orange, then a after show party at 4 at a friends house. that's it.
