Thought I was a goner...
Boys, I thought this was the end. I was at work yesterday and had an unbelievable pain in my chest and couldn't breathe. My boss called 911 and an ambulance took me to the closest hospital. I just got home; they kept me overnight, ran every test in the book and determined that it wasn't my heart. Still not sure what caused it but I'm glad to be alive.

Jeeez, that's really scary. Glad it wasn't the big one. You did exactly the smartest thing, and the one we usually don't do, you went for immediate help.
I had a heart attack when I was 42, I'm now almost 64. I would be dead if it weren't for my ex-wife, she saved my life. She is an RN and saw the signs and forced me to go to the hospital. I thought it was indigestion and was calling a waitress over for a ginger ale to try to relieve the pain. After that, every time I got a twinge I thought "oh oh, is that another one", but it always turned out to be muscular or something else.
Thank you for posting this, you may save someones life someday. They may never know what caused your pain, maybe stress, a pulled muscle, etc. but you didn't take any chances. Glad you are ok.
The funny part is what goes through your head when you are laying on that table. Suddenly, all the stupid stuff we sweat about every day seems very trivial, doesn't it?

Well that was good news for sure, glad your ok. I have been thinking for years my wife and I should take some classes in CPR. One time of saving someone would be the best feeling a person could possibly have.

Thanks guys, I'm 42 and in pretty good shape buy you just never know. The only thing they could find was a little high cholesterol so they want to put me on a "dont eat anything that tastes good" diet. I dont know about that one, but I guess I'll try to eat a little better.

Wow! Glad you are feeling better! If you don't have a regular Doc you might want to consider getting a full rundown by a good internal medicine doc. A good one makes a good "quarterback" to assess all of the data from specialists, and to come to answers in straight language. Again, glad you are doing better today.

Sorry to hear you had to do that, Falcon, but also very happy to hear you're OK. Sounds like it's time to de-stress.
I had three of them things in short order when I was 50, and in fine physical shape. Doc layed it on to stress; I made a few attitude - that's a big factor in a lot of cases - and lifestyle mods, and have managed pert'near 20 years extra, so far.

Glad to hear you're okay. One of the pilots I work with had a virus attack his heart at cruise altitude. The flight attendants had him layed out in the forward galley with a doctor and a nurse who were luckily on board. They got on the sat phone to medilink and had to divert the airplane (737) to the nearest hospital. Once there it was found that it wasn't the big one but I think it scared everyone on board including him. He's only in his 40's and in good shape too.
Look after yourself,
Sean
