For sale forum
How are you suppose to correct or add something to your own add, when they lock it on you? Am I suppose to forget it and just make a new one add, so that there is a bunch dead ones because we forgot to list something???
Don't make sense, this is the Only forum that locks them!

I know it kinda sucks, they should have it to where the thread starter can add to it, but i understand the reasoning. Im a mod on killbillet and i had to get on people cause they were just adding stupid comments that were not needed.

Because people were turning them into personal attacks on asking prices, or rims, or engine choices or the seller, etc and so forth. Almost as bad as political threads. As such, they got locked down as it took too many man hours to police. Adults or children acting in a poor manner is why they have remained closed..........
As for changes, minor ones can be PM'd to me (IE" Price changes mostly).

If you lock the thread, it won't be brought back to the top every day.

Why can't you just leave the edit button there, for the poster?
I understand all the BS post problem, but this is the only site (Not all car sites) that locks you out!

Pat,
Actually there are many auto related sites that lock the for sale threads. As for the edit button, I'll check with Brent to see if this can be done, but I believe there is a permissions issue that cannot be overcome by the software used for this forum. Only time will tell.

Just do a new ad. Keeps it on top and doesn't everybody love to see the same ad 47 times?Bob
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail....but a true friend will be sitting next to you saying..."Damn....that was fun!

Lots of ads on here, never have seen much sell. Your ad does stay towards the top on the For Sale forum until newer ads replace it.... Nothing against CHR, but IMO it's not the hottest parts peddling forum on the web..... I use it as a first offer if anyone is interested, then when there's no response I usually list it elsewhere...actually, I usually just keep it and add to the clutter of too much stuff I have already!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Cars, especially barn yard/back 40 project cars do not sell, right now anyway. That market has collapsed. Parts now that is a different thing altogether. We all can stand to save a few bucks over new store/shop bought, NOW in particular. What I sell has fallen off dramatically in the last 3 months. WAY below what is normal for me. I look at them everyday to buy stuff for my car(NOT to buy + resell.). Problem is I rarely see what I need (either obscure or same as most nostalgia or gasser guys-LOL) I do agree however that a lister only edit button would be nice. NOT to bring it up top so much as editing the ad/price/whats there etc.Last edited by Dgas56; 04-29-2009 at 03:42 PM.
