The OV-10s were used widely in Vietnam for forward air control. They were the crazy pilots who flew over enemy areas hoping to get shot at so the enemy would reveal themselves. Then they would turn around and fire a smoke rocket to mark the spot and the fast movers or A1Es would come in and pound them. Great they are being put to good civilian use.

The were preceded by the Cessna O1 and O2.

Now things are really getting serious with monster water tankers, check out this 747!

Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!

Oh sure, calling air crew dudes names!!!!! Next thing you know, you'll be calling PJ's crazy dudes!!!!!

The OV-10, A1E, and Sandy pilots were a bunch of moderately insane dudes!!!! Might as well have painted them Florescent Orange and put big black targets on them!!! As a former Air Resuce guy, my hat is off to those Pilots, man they sure did their job well, making our job a heck of a lot easier!!!

No pot in our back yard, just a fire somewhere outside of town!
Glad these guys were around to snuff it out!
Since you guys mentioned some millitary uses of the Bronco, here is another plane made to fly with chunks missing!

We saw one a few years ago at the Nevado Air Show. It was a stripped down model that did some incredible stuff in the air. We were talking to one of the pilots about it and he said, they wouldn't dare do the stuff that the Colonel did. Evidently they stripped hes plane of some of the armour and other non essentials for civilian air shows. The thing could practically hover in the air!
The little gatling gun on the front is a bit intimidating!
How's the R/c plane fly? 99"wing span is impressive!

Thanks for posting the pics Steve. I love planes and haven't seen those before. Would be pretty cool to have them buzzing around here, just not on business of course.

The little gatling gun was 50cal. The pilots said that it felt like it stopped in air when it shot!

It's still in the box, I have many kits, I also have a scale F-86 Saber jet with ducted fan. Kit cost around $2600.00 it's also about 100" wing span, I sold a scale F7F Tiger Cat that my wife and I built from scratch with a 106" wing span with twin 3.8 cc motors turning 22" props. I have 4 different P38 kits, P-39. I sold a 14 foot wing span B-25, we could not set it up in the living room of our old house. I have about 50 kits that will be built as time goes, once we get more of the house remodled, and get the spare room back, to make it into a hobby room.
I also have the A-1 skyraider which was also a Sandy's plane

Must be hard finding space for 7 ft wingspan planes! I take it the wings are removeable?

Yes they do! They can still be a hassle. We flew a B-36 for a friend of ours at air show, it had a 16'8' wing span, and had 6 pusher motors and 4 dummy jet engines, that wing was in 3 parts, but someone else flew it for him, and he rekit it(Crashed) not to much left to pick up!
I sold the Weeks Special Bi-plane in the pic, it had a 6' wing span, and a 64cc motor and spon a 24" prop and could stop going vertical, and then accelerate straight up, and had 24 oz's of smoke (Paraffin oil injected) that would only last about 6 minutes.
    Tha other plane I'm starting is a Cap 21 with a 102" wing span, and a 2.0cc motor with a 22" prop.
I have built planes since I was 8yrs old.

The motor on the far left is out of the Fokker D-VII Tri-plane (also called a flying chester drawers or snoopy's plane) behind them, it's a 38cc and the plane has a 6' wing span, and they are a Bit__ to land and not flip over.
I have over 100 airplane motors of every type & size, even Wankle rotory's for my smaller B-25
And lets not forget the polit that has jump out if the plane happens to get hit, he's R/C also!
