My Wife found this 49 Ford

My Wife was coming home from work last night, and spotted this car.

My Wife gave me instructions to go check it out just to see what the guy wanted for it so I would have an idea of what my projects were worth!!!

Well I called my Wife, and said you are the proud owner of the 49 Ford. I bought it mostly for the parts, no engine, and no trans.

If steel prices were steel high, this one may have been sent to the crusher.

    $410 delivered.

Wow Richard. That's one clean straight intact little Ford Tudor! Make a nice little tire burner! Great deal!

People say never buy a car in the rain but I went against that rule, and bought it anyway.

It's rough but the more I look at it the more I think it may just be able to be brought back to a driver. The floors are in good shape, it has a new rocker on the passenger side, and extra fender for the driver side that's decent, and the dash looks really good.

When my wife told me about it the first thing I thought of was to take the doors to use them on the 4dr. 50 Ford.

I bought a piece of junk on ebay a 51 Ford that has a running V8 flathead changed over to 12 volts, if I can I may just take the parts from that car to put in this one. The glass is not great but it's all there.

Steve, the rain makes it look better but well worth the $350 plus $60 to get it home.

Don, I can't dance but I like a good dinner, and I will treat my Wife to a dinner, after 40 years she still is the greatest.

Your right Barb, there are some really great women still who love car guys.

R Pope, I have the motor if the Wife will give me a hand, which she has helped me for 40 years whenever I ask, we may have us a cheap cruiser, he even has seat belts laying in the back to be installed, just need to find a rear seat so the Grandkids can ride back there.

Evolvo, It probably would be worth more then I paid. I would like to see if I could make a better car with the parts from the 51 Ford that is a running car, but bad body, glass, broken sway bar, etc.

Thanks for the comments to all, that gives a guy a boost.

Your right Dave, a person can be surprised what is in the area close by home. My Wife is really good at spotting the old cars.

    Thanks, Richard

All it needs now is a 500 inch Cadillac, THM400 and 2.80 gears in a 9 inch.
