wow this thread makes me feel a little better. i too am still burned out! it`s been quite some time now too. i have a ton of stuff to work on, but no desire!
I finally quit smoking on the 5th of july, so ive been trying to keep myself busy with ohter stuff to retrain my brain to live without the habit. i quit all the forums as well as giving up as moderator on one. ill get back at it soon i hope. turkey rod run should get me in the mood.

currently I'm kind of burnt out. painted the '51 but it still won't be ready for another year.. switched gears for a bit, and gave my Ford Ranger a face lift. just somthing to keep busy with.. converted it to the 2001-2003 front end.. this stuff all bolts togther. I'm used to fabrication and truly custom stuff. so this change of pace is a bit diffrent for me. but for the time being. it's just fine.. not finished yet. still lack the frt bumper and valance. but there waiting to be put on

I'm at about 8 years with the "Z". Other projects get in the way, work gets busy, being the geezer I am, sometimes I'm just tired.
I might get a couple hours this weekend. Next weekend (Labor Day) I plan to get some real quality time in the shop. But, who knows what will pop up in the next week."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.
"LIVE" your life like you could die tomorrow.

i been thru it .i just do not feel like working on the cars or driving them .a freind called to give him a hand on his starter .i was under his car and fixed his starter . he ask about the chevy i told him i just needed to put the new fuel pump under the chevy to drive it .but i just did not feel like getting under the 50 chevy to fix it. i have had the new QA1 front springs for the GTO i have walk around them springs now for two years now. every time i need a end mill .they are setting on the floor by my shelf i keep thinking i not going to move them i will get to putting them in so that would be burn out? i had guys hang out at the shop and get me pump up to do something .but i lost all the drive i had . one night i pickup a bigger set of BF drag tires for the GTO were a bit big i needed 1 inch less a side so i pull out the rear end put it on the jig cut it welded the ends back on. wash it out all down trim the axles put it all back together less then four hours i wish i still had that . i not sure if i want to drive them any more .all the dumb moves i see on the street with my daily driver and there just seams to be more women out there with cell phones they scare the hell out of me they ways have that going to war look on there face when they pull a dumb a$$ move with a cell phone stuck to there headLast edited by pat mccarthy; 08-28-2009 at 08:05 PM.

I too agree with all of the above. This forum more than anything else gets me motivated to get back out in the garage. I too hate working in the cold, but also experience the agony of too many projects and responsibilities, not to mention budget restrictions as Don said, which can slow you down. I hope to have the time and money just to get my new engine and tranny upo and running this year. As the summer is starting to fade, so are the garden projects and house maintenance that that a 100% wood home constantly needs (esp since it was made in 1858!)
T42 thanks for this post and hang in there!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.
Thank you Roger. .
