Say what you want about the COT but they're safe!!!! Ryan Newman just throughly crash tested his--and after they cut the roof off the car he walked away from it!!!! Got to give a well done award to NASCAR for designing and enforcing the rules on a very stout car!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Unfortunately, NASCAR must no longer trust the driver's enough to allow them to race.....Frickin' restrictor racing.....I don't claim to have the answers, but Talladega is really turning out to be a laugher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and the ending was just as sick as the rest of the race.... I'm going to the garage, that fiasco sure as heck wasn't racing!!!!!Last edited by Dave Severson; 11-01-2009 at 02:49 PM.

.....and another crappy restrictor plate race bites the dust tho I do like the fact that MacMurray finally won another. I do agree about Keselowski. He does the same bonehead moves in the Busch ...oops Nationwide series. If he doesn't maim someone he'll do it to himself.
Now - on to the next ho hummer of a trackDave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug

I have missed something here guys, havent seen any NASCAR racing for quite a few years,as its not followed down here, only by us people with digital tv,who like motor racing..What are these restrictor plates all about??
But obviously,PC is creeping into evrything, even motor racing..After yesterdays crash at Talladega, the call goes out,''is motor racing getting too dangerous''?OOHH,surely not,,Micah 6:8
If we aren't supposed to have midnight snacks,,,WHY is there a light in the refrigerator???

Everyone including the drivers hate restrictor plates. The plates force the drivers to avoid lifting their foot at all costs....yesterday was a great example of how slow the cars could accelerate to their top speed....if you lifted, you were going backwards fast.
However, NASCAR is trying to keep speeds down....yesterday proved that cars can fly (literally). There is a huge liability factor with all the people sitting in the stands, etc.
Instead of restrictor plates, they surely looked at an option to take the size of the engine down at the superspeedways.....mandate a smaller engine....say 302 cubic inches.....this kills speed but does it have the same effect as a restrictor plate? My guess is that it probably does....no acceleration.
Somewhere there is a solution......the cars need to accelerate, the fans need racing, and NASCAR needs to keep the flying cars grounded.

When you take any object and make it so as to have downforce---turn it over and it has upforce(lift-----) result---unidenified flying objects---but in nascar they put numbers on them so they know what garage/pit to take the wrecks to

Other then the bump in turn 1, looks like it's another who's got the most horsepower race, though with the bump I suppose shock and spring package could come in to play, too..... Betcha all them crew chief's spent a bit of time on the dyno's--Shock and Engine both--last week!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

and the good news is, Jimmy Johnson crashed on the 3rd lap, Mark Martin got a top 5 and is now only 73 points behind that young pup Johnson kid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Old age and treachery still has a good shot at the championship!!!!
Smoke did good, solid top 5 finish!
Oh yeah, that other Bush kid one, Kurt in his Penske Dodge....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I swear I don't understand the animosity towards Jimmie Johnson nor the admiration for Martin. Martin has always been a good driver but thats really it just good, granted he is better than a lot of those dudes, but he has never been good enough for example to win a Championship. Now thats not a problem for Jimmie Johnson, now is it? He is good enough to win at least three in a row, thats a fact.
Martin "Today" is doing a real good job of playing his new role. That would be "Humble Harry" but I remember the Mark Martin of just a few years ago. The Martin were no matter what went wrong he always had someone besides Mark to blame.
Time will tell who deserves the championship with the key word being "Deserves" If its Martin I will applaud that accomplishment even though I am not a Mark Martin fan. But I wonder how many of the folks who are Martin fans will applaud Jimmie Johnson if he pulls number 4 Off??
RSProtected people will never know or understand the intensity life can be lived at. To do that you must complettly and totally understand the meaning of the word "DUCK"
You've not been around here for a while, Charlie, but when you were you had GREAT projects!! Happy Birthday!!
Happy Birthday Charlie Fisher!
