Here's the kicker..........
I did offer to trade him and told him that his 4 grandchildren would fit in my car like he wants. I offered an even trade and we meet in the middle (distance wise) with the cars. He said he would trade but needed cash too. He said that he had it appraised and it appraised for $48,000, and it would have appraised for more but due to the economy it did not.Go Hokies!!!!!! With all due respect to those guys on here who do appraisals, in many cases you can get any number you want from some appraisers. Artificial numbers can be useful for insurance purposes and cheap talk over your beverage of choice, but when it comes time to move a car the only appraiser whose opinion has any REAL validity is the one with a bag full of Benjamins.
This guy's car is advertised in the single largest car marketing tool in the world. If he's right about the value he puts on it, it will sell, maybe not on the site but in offline traffic generated by being advertised there. Same for the appraisal that's supposedly low because of current market conditions. Again, if that were accurate he'd have bidding proving it.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Bob-- You are right to a certian point.
Most of the "True" appraisers will write what they see, and the bottom line has nothing to do with the economy.
True honest parts, material, labor and condition.
I usually write mine @ replacment cost not resale, as most are written for insurance purpose's.
The guy who want's me to inflate the sheet for what ever reason will be told "Pay me for my trip out here, and then find a crook to write it for you"
Don't need to deal with people like that as my rep with the industry is on the line. When I get to where I was goin, I forgot why I went there>
Hated to see that news, he was a good online friend.
