I just find it completely hypocritical that the two most addictive and destructive drugs are available (and still heavily advertised) to anyone who really wants them. All controlled and taxed by the government. IMO any arguments about the dangers of pot, or even heroin, are completely bogus as long as alcohol and tobacco are freely available. If we truly live in a free country where people have the right to choose how they live their lives how do we dare judge someone more harshly for smoking a little pot then for being a "high functioning alcoholic". I still say legalize it all, under the same restrictions we put on tobacco and alcohol (who can buy it, no driving while under the influence, etc.) This tax collecting seems to be one government program that runs reasonably well. This is one of the reasons the Governator is pushing to legalize pot in Ca. They need the $$$$$$$$.
And speaking of drug use. Have you noticed the avalanche of new drugs being pushed on us by the pharmaceutical industry on TV. I watch some of these adds, telling me to speak to my Doc, and quietly streaming an endless list of "possible" side effects, and by the end I have no idea what this new miracle drug is supposed to cure. We take drugs to help us sleep, to help us stay alert, to stop our legs from moving, to keep us calm, to help us speak in public and on and on and on.
Anxiously awaiting your reply!! Where's my Ambien?
Yep. And I seem to move 1 thing and it displaces something else with 1/2 of that landing on the workbench and then I forgot where I was going with this other thing and I'll see something else that...
