Looking at a '08 Dodge Caliper SRT4 with the turbo engine. I know they "recommend" 93 octaine fuel, but what if you put the low grade in it? How will it affect the turbo?Go Hokies!!!!!! ACC CHAMPS '04,'07,'08

Won't hurt the turbo or anything rlse. What it will do is give youa very noticable loss of performance. All them sensors effectively detune the engine to run on the lower octane fuel.theres no foo like an old foo

By law the car has to run on 87 octane and it will not void the warranty. They recommend use of 93 but, not required.

it wont hurt the turbo but could do some major damage due to detonation. i dont know how much timing the knock sensor pulls when it senses knock on that car. excessive detonation can cause blown head gaskets and damaged pistons.

ps, ive already blown 2 head gaskets due to bad tune on my pinto. but im not running a knock sensor.Last edited by turbo74pinto; 11-08-2009 at 07:20 AM.
