Sounds like the way the Holiday was meant to be with family friends enjoying time spent together. Happy Birthday to your son. Hope they have a safe and trouble free trip home.

[QUOTE=lamin8r;370231]No,I suppose the only people down here who celebrate Thanksgiving are the Americans who live here. And we stumble over a few more day by day...

We have our New Zealand celebrations[?] in the first week of February to mark the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi,in 1840,in which is supposed to mark the joining of the British settlers and the "indigenous"people, but it has turned into a big bun fight between a bunch of activists and the Government officials...We wont go there, okay?

What a coincidence!!! We had some difficulties with the Brits once, too!!!!
Guess back then the Brits were just a bunch of rabble rousing trouble makers, huh????????

Dave,I was thinking that when I wrote it,but then, our local tribes were probably lucky the Germans or the Japanese didnt find the place first, they would have been wiped out to the last man...
Funny thing is,there is speculation on how the Maori race got here anyway, from the hill country of Taiwan,....
