Wow, what a bummer!!!! Haven't seen him on here for awhile, but the information he shared with others was always most accurate and usually had a good "been there, done that" episode to go with the advice.....
Guess when it's your time............

Whew, what a year this has been for losing people. I am so very sorry to learn of his passing. He was always such a great asset to every forum he frequented and seemed to be one h*** of a guy. When I read this I thought, no, not the guy with the Buick powered roadster, but it was really him.
My condolences to his family and friends, and may he be driving that great highway in the sky behind the wheel of one of his cool hot rods.

I first met Jay several years ago during the "hot cars & hot cuisine" cruise in So-Cal. Jay was extremely knowledgable and would share that knowledge with anyone. Great sense of humor and just fun to be around.
We've lost a good man, condolences to his wife and family.

Our prayers go out to his family, wow enough already.
I guess with as many members as are on here we are gonna take some hits.
Just seems like more then our share this year, when you think of all the talent
and years of experience thats been lost along with our friends it's mind Mindboggling.
One things for sure he's in good company and I hope they save me a seat at that big drag strip in the sky. Kurt

Hello everyone---This is Jay's wife Gay. I'm so, so sorry that all of you found out the way you did. Writing all of you was on my list of things to do, but I seem kind of paralysed {wrong sp,}. He died Sun. Nov. 15 of a massive brain bleed. They air lifted him from here to Vegas. Our daughter and son{inlaw{ live there and were able to meet the helicopter and walk into the hospital with him. Deb,daughter and I got there about 3 hours later. He was gone probably before we got there but they kept him on life support as long as we need him. Our pregnant granddaughter and boyfriend were able to be there, too. Our other two grandchildren live out of state. We thank all of you for your messages today. I especially liked the ones about him driving on the heavenly roads. C9 used that name because our last name is Carnine. We will be reading further posts. We are so deeply sorry for the loss of such an awesome, wise, loving, super intelligent man.

When I learned of C9's (Jay's) death, out of curiosity I looked back through my earliest available postings (those after the computer crash) to read his contributions to them. His was the very first one. Interesting, knowledgeable, and well written, as were they all.
We have lost a good one.
Condolences to his family.

I first heard of Jay passing on the RRT last night; it was a shock, to say the least. He will certainly be missed, and my most sincere condolences are offered to his family and friends.Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.
Twistin' and bangin' on stuff for about sixty or so years; beat up and busted, but not entirely dead - yet.

Gay, I think you can tell from the posts on here and other forums that Jay was a very respected man who many considered a friend, even though most of us never had the honor of meeting him in person. Jay's character and regard for others came across in spades whenever he posted.........most often to try to help someone out in any way he could.
We share your loss and thank you for taking time during this difficult period to speak with us about Jay. Please check back with us often let us know how you and the rest of your family are doing. We care.
