    fiberglass gelcoat repair question

what is a good way to tint a two part gelcoat repair? I had a crack in the new tub i put in last spring. I did not notice it til i took of the protective wrapping, of course i left it on while i drywalled and tiled, and never dreamed there would be a small crack in the tub, i bought a repair kit and followed the directions, even going as far as drilling on each end of the crack to stop it, and carefully removing material with a dremel tool, after much careful sanding and polishing i had very good results, a smooth looking seemingly strong repair that has held up VERY well for six months and was not hard to do, the color does not match well it reminds me of when your teeth are worked on those front teeth fillings never look right, my bathroom is really nice and the jet tub works great it even has a heater, hind sight is 20/20 next time i will unwrap and take back to the store if needed then rewrap it to protect it. the crack was found after two weeks of drywall taping, sanding tiling grouting you get the picture it is staying put, it has not cracked again, any sugestions on what to tint the repair with it is bright white and the tub is grayer? but sitll white, or should i leave it alone and turn the light off when i take a bath haha

Tinting gelcoat can be a pain, but if you have a good boat repairer in your area,I would have a talk with him about tinting the gelcoat for you, much the same as a car painter tints paint, probably just needs a touch of black and/or blue in it to bring it to the right shade, whites can be a real b****h to get right, maybe you need to contact the manufacturer of the tub,and get the correct colour for the job, failing that, revert to plan B,turn out the light,or wear a mask when you take a bath...
