boots---
As I get older I think the dang concrete floors get harder..... My really comfortable work boots are junk, holes on both sides, ripped out seams, junk. Got to break down and get new boots--wondered if anyone has found a decent pair that are tolerable on concrete and don't take a year to get broke in??????Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Dave,
I bought Rocky boots last summer for a all around work boot. I call them my Sissy Boots because they have a Side Zipper as well as front strings; which really make them going on and coming off quick. They were just under a hundered bucks and I got them at Gander Mountain. They are insulated and waterproof. I wore them in the summer while junking out cars and wear them inside while finishing off my basement and my feet don't get too hot AND I wore them out hunting last fall and in the snow this year and my feet were never cold.
BUT the main reason I like them is that they are soooooooo comfortable and did not need breaking in.
The only drawback is that they are NOT steel toed.

Got to the Redback boot site....Thanks Rog!!!! Fashion conscious guy that I am, ordered another pair just like the one's I've got now that are worn out after about 4 years of very good and comfortable service!!!!!
\
A store here in town handles Red Wing boots, gonna go there tomorrow and "test drive" some of theirs!!!!!
Thanks for the help, guys....Just another sign of old age, I guess. But my whole body is shot real quick if my boots aren't good....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I'm pretty fond of Carolina Boot.
for toughness test:
I work offshore on a boat, 84 hours a week, living on steel 24/7 for 42 days at a time.

"..... holes on both sides, ripped out seams...." Jup sounds like you just got them broken in good
I think you'll really like the redbacks Dave their a good boot.
Personally I wish I could find another pair of the old jungle boots. For me they were some of the most comfortable boots I ever owned.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

Boots don't break in, your feet do. If they aren't comfortable when you first put them on, don't buy them cause they don't fit. My friend Tim Powell sells Redwings in Rapid and he will keep trying till he finds the most comfortable fit. Might take a lot of tries, but I haven't had a uncomfortable pair of boots in the last 25 years. A good fit makes a heavier boot a lot lighter to wear.theres no foo like an old foo

dave, try sid boedecker hy test ,these seem to last the longest for me, i get the ones that have the oblique steel toe, i have crushed both of my feet and both big toes, and have to have custom inserts made by the foot doctor, if you have BAD feet like mine it is worth spending the extra money, also my grandpa worked for the railroad and wore this brand and he swore by them. the pair i have now is two years old and still going.

I like Magnum and Hi-Tec boots. They are light weight, feel like tennis shoes, and don't require a break in period. They are the most comfortable year round boots I've ever had.
