Thanks Bob and everyone for asking about me.......I'm fine. We just had some major changes in our lives in the past couple of months. Dan lost his job one week and I lost mine the very next week. When Dan lost his job we also lost the apartment we had with his job, so we moved. Luckily, he has found a new, even better job and we will be moving there in the next week or so.
It really wasn't a horrible experience, and Dan learned a lot about himself. He had 3 or 4 job offers pretty quick, so it helped his confidence alot. Me, I am going to cool it for a while and figure out what I want to do next......I'm in no hurry........getting lots done on my 27 and Dan has his 30 ready for primer. Lots of advantages to not working.
We got a lot of help from my Son Don and his GF Taylor during this time and also my ex-wife. Really appreciate that a lot.
So,my computer is currently stored away and I can't wait until we hook it back up in the new place. Right now I am at Fed Ex using theirs. Thanks again for the concern guys.

Just checking in to let everyone know I'm still breathing. We are scheduled to move into the new place next week, so I will have internet then......I'm going through withdrawl.
Got a lot done on my 27, fired the new engine up the other night for the first time. It started after a couple of revolutions and REALLY sounds strong. Ran great for five minutes with 60 lbs oil pressure, and then Dan saw the oil pressure gauge drop to zero. I pulled the pan yesterday and found the main oil galley plug laying on top of the oil pickup. It evidently blew out, but I think we shut it down before any damage. I tapped threads and they are now screw ins, no more straked plugs. Learned a lesson on that one.
I should be able to reinstall the engine today and fire it back up tonight. Just about ready to reinstall the body, if the fiberglass guy would get it done for me.
I won't be able to respond to this thread as I am still using FedEx's computer, but just wanted to say hi to everyone and bring you up to speed. It's been an "interesting" couple of months, but not bad at all.....actually nice having time to work on the car and other stuff.
Take care everybody.

Heck you lot re-enforce my idea on community wellbeing. Lamin8r lead me to this site and I am so grateful as I have received such open friendly communication from everybody I have had the pleasure to "talk" to. As somebody mentioned in this thread,Hot Rodding people are special and as we all age I find that we go past just speaking cars etc.,it is more about that large family environment of each looking out for each other and isn't the world getting smaller. Now if we could only get all the politicians around this world to stop the BULLSH*T and start building Hot Rods wouldn't the world be a better place.Last edited by Whiplash23T; 03-26-2010 at 04:09 PM. You're right Whiplash......funny how we all become friends here and in most cases we will never have the pleasure of meeting one another. The times I have gotten to meet some of the members in person it was like we had known each other for years.
I'm back at FedEx......computer withdrawl was getting me. Supposedly, the new place is ready tomorrow, so we can start moving in. A TV and computer are first on my list for sure. I haven't seen the news in two months, so I have no idea what the world is doing.
Dan and I went to Don Garlits Museum the weekend of the 20th, drove my T the 220 miles each way. He had a great turnout for his show.....300 cars, and we really had fun. Got the oil galley plug replaced in the motor for my 27, used a screw in this time, and it is running well now.....50 lbs oil pressure at idle and about 70 or so when you goose it. Runs at 180 too, which is a relief.
Only thing holding me up is the fiberglass guy still has my body. I went to see him and prod him a little yesterday, and he "swears" I will have it this week. I think I have decided to paint the body red. I have never had a red hot rod, so it will be a change.
Well, that's about it.......at 20 cents a minute for FedEx's computer I can't be too wordy. Hope everyone is ok, be talking to you hopefully from home next time.

Good to hear you guys are doing well and that the 27 is progressing. Congrats on the engine solving/working. Nice to have them run at the right temp too!
At 20 cents a minute, one could go broke fast! Makes you want to get a laptop and ride around until you get a free signal!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
