Yeah - I did the jet ski thing as well. Last thing I saw on the speedometer was 55mph - next thing I knew, I was about thirty feet away from the ski as it just bobbed and laughed at me!! I had my then 14 year old son on the back and neither of us was hurt (except dad's pride!) however I was ticked as I lost my sunglasses!

Brings back memories of learing to water ski... A friend had a buddy that took a boat as payment for body work - 15.5' tri-hull with 135hp Johnson power tilt in about '74. That thing would launch and hit plane in about 25', then hit 55mph with or without a skier We took it out one day in mid-August, him, my ex and me, none knowing how to ski a lick. About pulled our arms out of the sockets, but we all finally got out of the water and ski'd by the end of the day. He ended up buying the boat, and we were out on Beaver Lake (NW AR) lots, and all of us were on slalom within a couple of weeks. We did not know any better than to ski at WOT, even cranking into turns and swinging wide - must have hit 70 to 75 on a slalom ski leaning out to keep the rope tight. It's a wonder no one died....
Both boats are very nice rides, and should be a blast in warm weather.Roger

Wowzer Zowzer - 135HP on a 15.5 tri-hull! That's pretty incredible. Typically those transoms were rated at about 50-75HP max. I bet it was a screamer. You're lucky that then engine didn't rip the aft half of the boat off!"Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. Where the government fears the people you have liberty." Yes, as I recall Johnson brought out the 135hp outboard in 1973 and it was the biggest until about 1977 when they went to 140hp. I have no idea about the transom rating, but the little boat did fly - PowerCat Tri-Hull rings a bell.
Sorry for the hijack - back on topic...Roger

I learned how to ski behind a V-drive Dimarco flat bottom with an aluminum headed 427 back in the day. I've never had so much fun and been absolutely scared to death at the same time.
A man was watching his wife as she prepared to fry sausages in a pan. He noticed that before placing the sausages in the pan, she always cut off both ends, threw them away, and cooked only the middle...
