    Wonderful Old Fords

Well, I'm pretty much a Chevy guy when it comes to old cars (however I have Fords for daily drivers!) but I think most of here will love the cars on this link:

Thanks very much for that, Glenn.

Mr. Weller has to be some remarkable man.

Once every year or so my wife and I like to get in the car and, with no particular destination in mind, just head out in some general direction. We make plans to stop and check out some things and places along the way, like stuff that we have said that we "oughta go see some day".

This year I will plan to go up through eastern Kansas and stop in De Soto (unless, of course, she who has veto power over my decisions decides otherwise).

And if all I get to do is peep through the window at those treasures inside, well, so be it.

Really an inspiring man, I for one hope to have that much energy so late in life. Thanks for posting the link.

Right on Bill - I had a guy that worked for me that retired on his 70th birthday. He still flys his plane (Piper Turbo) and golf two or three times a week, shooting in the mid eighties!

We have this mistaken notion in America that people become "obsolete" somewhere between 55 and 60. I say that's nonsense and I plan to "peak" when I'm 85! I think my best years are yet to come!

One of the best things about this site is the collection of wisdom and knowledge that we have gained by living a while. My father used to tell me, "you'll soon be as smart as I am, probably already are - but you will never be as wise as I am until you have lived as long as I have." He's been gone fifteen years now and I think I'm starting to understand what he was talking about..

    Regards All,
    Glenn

Wise words,indeed..I see no reason to stop when you turn 60/65..Gene Winfield and Bill Hines are mid to late eighties,,still doin it..if you enjoy it,keep going..My late father retired at 60,but kept busy, doing what he had to,and what he wanted to,right up till about 6 months before he passed, and I hope the good Lord keeps me tickin happily till the same age..
