cell phones and driving
In the last 5 days I've come close to getting hit or hitting some one while they were talking on a phone 4 times. I get mad enough to wish I had hit them. They pull out right in front of you with out a care. One after I about hit her in the door waved the phone at me and pointed at it, like I was interupting her call. Here inMI. they are making it against the law to be driving while texing. Hell I can't tex while sitting in a chair at home. Fingers way to big. I guess I'll get off this soap box but I'm getting real tired of watching out for the other guy that dosen't care.Charlie

a real problem everywhere I suppose - - - - I moved over on the shoulder yesterday to let some faster traffic go on by and a lady in a SUV almost side swiped me even tho she had plenty of room - - - - and YES she was talking on her cell phone and not paying any attention.

Been there, done that. Both sides. Now don't answer or call while driving.

Ditto, but very occasionally,,what stopped me was a near rear end job...That was about three years back, havent done it since, dont even bother to pull over now to answer the call either..
In November last year,it became an offence to drive and use a cell phone in New Zealand..$55 or $60 fine and 10 demerit points,,,it should be a lot more, but I suppose they gotta start somewhere..It has worked, but the fine is too low,and drivers are still out there doing it..
It was prompted by a lot of fatalities,or near fatalities, over a relatively short time.Micah 6:8

against the law in Oregon now. I still see it all the time. It's fun to swerve at them just to see if they notice however..... many do not

You stirrer...I have done that myself...I unfortunately crept up on a young Asian women who was weaving a bit ,between lanes on the highway...I came up beside her as she drifted in my direction,so I gave her a blast on the horn, she was texting, and didnt see me coming...Imagine it..she just about filled her knickers, and unfortunately over corrected and just about cleaned up the car on the other side of her...What happened to me??she showed me which finger she scratches her nose with.......Rude young thing....Micah 6:8

The cell phone idiots are still creating road rage here in New York State even after 3 years of banning talking on it while driving. The police nail 'em regularly - if in the mood or their sergeant tells 'em they need to fill their summons book. I was almost side swiped at 70+ mph on the interstate a couple days ago - and my wife learned a few more descriptive adjectives she had never heard me say before. Here it's a $100 fine. Originally there were 'points', but it looks like that got changed. Of course your insurance will go up and there are court costs so it can get expensive. But - people still do it and cause accidents and in my case, increased road rage Then there are the texters - and that too is banned, but......Dave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
