Another Triple D project! Coool! Man who hasn't had one or wanted a bug! In high school my friend Andre use to drive us around in a two tone lime green bus, that had a bad starter. We'd all get out and push it as fast as we could , Andre pop the clutch and then gun it with us all running after the van diving into the side door!
Good times are associated with those cars!Last edited by stovens; 05-03-2010 at 10:36 AM.

Good looking bug, almost a twin of the one Dan had. His was lime green, with the stinger exhaust too.

I've never owned a "Bug" but I bought one of these back in the mid-60's to
haul our Country Rock Band's equipment around. When we finally signed a
management contract and decided to go on the road, the agency suggested
that I get a more appropriate means of hauling the equipment.
I wonder what they meant by appropriate???

Gotta love those VW's, I must have had at least 6-8 Beetles, had 4 van's including a 23 window w/a canvas sunroof(wish I still had that) but I can honestly say I had the most fun in our 63 & 65 Notchback's.
Here's our 65...

Everyone has a story about bugs,I gotta admit, that they are certainly vehicle that attracts attention..Back in the late 80s/early 90s,I built a few Cal look beetles for a few people, including a top chopped 66 for a friend with a VW repair and import business..Will see if I can find some pix..If I didnt have so much to do around here,I would keep an eye out for a suitable car,but lets not go there,,,I might end up on my own again..
Don,that little project car Dan has on the trailer, looks to be in good shape, hasnt suffered with the rot, like a bug, sorry, big percentage down here...not that there are too many to be found here now anyway...Hope he has a bit of fun with it..Micah 6:8

Hey,they are kool,I would own either of them, except, that when we go anywhere for a weekend or three days,I am married..remember??only enough room for a couple of small bags..Unfortunately,we have a VERY biased bunch of rodders down here, and Volks rods, are only for the thick skinned....,but I am used to going against the grain,so yeah,I would have one...Maybe after the Cusso, and the Galaxie....Micah 6:8

A "skip" = a dumpster.... but he says it's proper english??? Oh.. Okay. Most of us can see the dating site pun, "matching" with an arsonist.. But a "SKIP? How is that a box? It must all be...
