I've seen a video clip of paintless dent removal where they heated the surface with a heat gun/hair dryer, then used a can of compressed air for computer dust removal upside down to expel the CO2. Waited as the frost disappeared from the surface and the dent came out with a "pop". Haven't tried it myself, but I know regular ice on a hot summer day doesn't work...
We had a pretty big hailstorm move through the KC metro some time back and the major insurance companies set up mobile drive through claim stations whereever they could find space. I took my wife's Astro van in with about 35 dents, and the examiner told me that a bit earlier he had a kid come in with deep pock marks all over the hood, top and trunk of his muscle car. The dents were amazingly consistent in size, which prompted the guy to get out his magnifying glass and bright light for a closer look. On the same spot in each dent he could see the letters "USA" in the paint, which he knew to be from a certain body hammer that had a raised USA origin stamp on the pick end. He asked the kid to look at the "hail damage" dents with his light and magnification, and wondered aloud about how Kansas did with insurance fraud.... The kid elected to leave without saying a word, according to the adjuster, who was still chuckling.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

My brother and sister in law got hit by a hailstorm in the midwest a few years back. It practically destroyed their almost new Nissan pickup.... smashed the windshield and the sunroof. They both got cut by flying glass and were very lucky that their two-year old daughter escaped injury. Guess it scared the cr*p out of them.Remember, Freedom isn't Free, thousands have paid the price so you can enjoy what you have today.

Yup,that would have been scary,,in the South Island about 8years ago,we were at a rod run,and had a display in a multi level car park..Just before we left, the rain turned to hail, and most of those stones were about a half inch in diameter...and man,did they do some damage to Ma and Pas every day cars that were parked out on the street..Micah 6:8

They said the hailstones that hit them were between 1 and 1 1/2 inches. The truck looked like someone had attacked it with a ball-pien hammer.Remember, Freedom isn't Free, thousands have paid the price so you can enjoy what you have today.

I can identify with that, RR. Both my wife's Malibu and my fine old Dodge have those ball pein hammer dings. I'm waiting for 100 degree days to try the ice trick.
Here, if I can get this stupid link to work right, is a guy that can give us first-hand information about hail storms. This happened in Oklahoma City last Sunday. Is that the same storm as the one in your posting, Lamina8r?

Dang it! When the video is over the TV broadcast (The Weather Channel) keeps blabbing and I can't figure out what to do about it. Sorry.
Every year the City of Fort Worth has a big celebration they call "Mayfest". Several years ago one of my co-workers and his son hopped in their brand new Mazda pickup and went to Mayfest. While they were there a legendary softball size hailstorm made its presence known. They ran for the parking area and got there just as those cannon balls started hitting. Sam and the boy rolled under the truck.
I am told that the next ten minutes or so were stressful.
The Mazda was reduced to total scrap.
It has to be that global warming stuff we hear tell about!
