As usual, another politician (Jesse Jackson) running his mouth about a subject he has absolutely no knowledge of.... Do you suppose he'll go home and actually read the law now instead of just mouthing the same rhetoric he has used for so many years against so many causes???

The Arizona law is more restrictive then Federal law in regards to profiling and making race the issue, and as usual most of the opposition to a just and constitutional law protecting a legal system and the people who adhere to it is based on everything but the facts!!!

I don't usually agree with a lot of the biased reporting on Fox, CNN, or any of the rest but this time they seem to have got it right!!!

PS----Does anybody even take Jesse Jackson seriously anymore???

And I thought I was the only one the felt like this!!!!!
Anything to get some face time on the tube.
I wouldn't want this guy talking to one of my kids
that were getting ready to graduate from college.
But I guess if they were graduating they would probably
see this Jesse Jackson for what he really is.

But, if all the illegal immigrants were deported, what would we do with all the unattended leaf blowers?

Seriouslly, though, the discussion about ILLEGAL immigration amongst the liberal talking heads always drops the "illegal" and talks about how everyone was an immigrant. The illegal gets dropped because it'a not about immigration at all. It's about votes, and we know who benefits from that.

Re: Jesse Jackson: What the h377 did he say? All I heard was "blub-blah rhetorblc, blahblub proflubh, ciblphl rots, ad nauseum. I have always thought him to be an inane character, but also think we should take him seriously enough to keep an eye on him, because there are a whole lot of highly educated idiots and uneducated followers who would follow him into the flames of perdition if he said to.

Sadly, this past weekend one of our daughters-in-law showed her true feelings, and she might just be one of those who would follow him. We try to not get into political discussions with her or her family because they are rabid libs, but inevitably, something will lead us down that road to some extent - they do like to argue, and poke the bear. Well, after getting a good head of steam up over the AZ law business, Mrs. R said to her: "Well, I guess that means you're a socialist?, and like the idea of just giving everything you work so hard for to anyone regardless of whether they earned it or not?". She answered: "Yes, I do. Why should someone who has no opportunity do without? We shouldn't even have borders. Everyone should have the same "choices".". I still am having a hard time with that one; she is very highly educated, advanced degrees in education, and pre-doctoral work in sociology and psychology. Where did she get her ideas? She is a bleeding heart liberal. Auugh! This is giving me a belly ache.

Unfortunately it was the college students and recent college grads that carried Osama through the election. The younger generation as well as the dyed in the wool lib's just wanted "Change" no matter what the cost and change they/we got! The purple koolaid was following on all the college campuses starting in 2007!

And these are the type of people that we entrust to educate our children and grandchildren? As Mrs. Gump so eloquently stated "Stupid is as stupid does".

Assuming that this forum group is relatively representative of our society the odds are we have a handful of genuine racists in our midst. When I say handful I mean a really small number. I would bet that many of you are not racist, but also don't buy into the P.C. definitions that dominate our national narrative. In fact I'd bet some of you are downright mad that you have to feel as though you are wrongfully accused of being racist. The good news is your numbers are growing. For years the charge of racism has been a discussion stopper. That's precisely why those who throw it out willy-nilly have used it to excess. They don't want to confront the issue logically, they only want to force you (perhaps shame you) into seeing things their way, or at worst shutting down opposition to their view. For too many years those of us that don't subscribe to their view have let them get away with it. Confrontation avoidance. Confrontation is uncomfortable for most. But like the fable about the boy who cried wolf, the folks who've abused the term racist have worn out it's significance. That's unfortunate for those times when genuine racism does occur, but then that's the point of the fable. More and more folks are realizing that if they refuse to accept the lable of racist, it won't stick. It does take some intellectual effort to counter those claims though. The best defense is a good offense.

As for young people seeming to embrace what we normally refer to as "socialism" there's good reason for that. From the moment they pop out of mama they're on the dole. Food, clothing, shelter, all provided to them for no effort other than whining and crying. Relieve themselves whenever and wherever..........no problem. This state of dependence lasts until it doesn't (how's that for profound?). But that's literally true. The better a parent prepares their offspring for self sufficiency, the better the chance their views will change when they have to fend for themselves. Some don't of course. Those that don't seem to be folks who are predisposed to seeing the world through eyes that seek symbols rather than real outcomes. Perhaps the word utopian should apply. These are the folks who tend to follow "leaders" who make great sounding promises/ideas, never taking time to evaluate the actual outcomes. It makes them feel like they are a better person because they want everyone and everything to be the same. They NEVER stop to think.........."When has that ever worked in the real world?" Equal outcomes have never occured because different folks have different talents thus making different inputs. Different inputs = different outcomes. Seems like a simple concept...................well, apparently not.

Kurt, two years ago we had a change of government..The previous country wreckers,,sorry, government, were in power for nine years, the Labour Government. They have always been against the countries growth,or so it seems,,and in the last nine years, they have let Asian immigrants in willy nilly, thousands of them in fact..I went to the airport to pick up a friend about five years ago,and thought I had been transported to some Asian city...didnt feel like Auckland at all...Anyway,with the influx of imports,we were all expected to dig into our pockets and give all these people what we could, allow them to surround us with there customs and culture, and let them take over,,or so it felt..Sure,some of the wealthy ones brought money in,but they are also taking large lumps of money out of NZ cos they are buying businesses and sending the money offshore..With the influx of asians,we have had a sharp rise in kidnapping, fraud, counterfeiting, copying, call it what you will, lots more asian gang warfare, even the damn students are bopping each other off,,in one case, three asian students, beat up,demanded money, didnt get it,so they killed fellow student, stuffed him into a suitcase and dumped him in the harbour...just on Tuesday, another Chinese girl student got kidnapped, and killed..She was found stuffed in the trunk of her car..Yeah,the cops got the scrotes her did it,but they probably wont get the sentence they should..Like to see what would happen if we did it in their country..Funny thing is,that a woman in the chinese community was on TV last night, saying there should be more protection for their students,,yeah, right,it was her own countrymen who did the deed..I have no idea what the present govt is going to do about immigration,as they do find, and kick a lot of illegals out of the country,in the 80s,the same govt we have now,did dawn raids on suspected houses, mainly in south Auckland, and found and removed hundreds of illegals, mostly from Samoa/Tonga,The same needs to happen again, with the Asian community..I have never considered myself racist, but I suppose there is a little bit of it in all of us..I just keep thinkin, that it is too easy to get into this country, and everyone knows it..
Uncle Bob,I agree with you whole heartedly, but I cant see a change in the near future..

The more that happens around here, the less I understand the left. I don't think they even understand themselves. I'm a racist, Nazi, fringe-radical, and lots of other things according to the left. All I do is go to work, obey the law, try to do the right thing, and pay "my fair share". I'm sick of it.
