NSRA Springfield
I attempted to upload pictures to the "Car Shows" photo section but it truncated the upload twice and I'm done messing with it
Below is a link to a PhotoBucket Album with a few pictures from this weekend's NSRA "Plus" event. http://s86.photobucket.com/albums/k8...gfield%202010/ If someone wants to copy these to a "Car Show" folder feel free.
The NSRA sign at the registration was "Welcome Rodder's" as opposed to "Welcome Street Rodder's" in the past - they have two different banners that can be used for 2010 - one "Street" and one without.
I was surprised by the number of post '48 cars there, at least 25% of the 2200 entries, but also by the quality of those rides - some very, very nice cars from the 50's & 60's. Sure, there were a couple of really ratty '60's cars, but all but a few were really nice, very well done rides. Look at the black Porsch 911 style - this one made me question why it was there at first, but it is a 1972 Porsche with a honking small block Chevy engine in back! Also the yellow Corvair Corsa - front engine SBC, very nicely done. Several really nice Mustangs, too, along with the usual array of street rods. The yellow 2 dr sedan was in competetion for the Great 8 in Detroit this year, http://www.bangshift.com/gallery/Det...0-gallery.html
The weather was great - we had one little shower lasting less than five minutes Sunday mid-day, and other than that it was mid-80's with a gentle breeze. Nice venue, lots of nice cars, and no problems that I saw at any time.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Just returned from Springfield N.S.R.A. show and this is the second post 48 show I've attended this year. I must admit I was a little concerned how the mix would be received but I truly enjoyed the "later" models and the quality of the cars. Hopefully this is an indication of the upcoming nationals in Louisville.

It was a very nice show. We met some very nice people from that area. The number of vendors seems to be dropping. No GM, Comp Cams, DuPont, etc. Great selection of cars though! There were several early 50's Chevy pickups that were super nice! Both OKC and Springfield have both been better than we expected. We hope to make them again next year. One show official commented that it was nice to see strollers carrying babies rather than dogs. Ha! I guess so. Our grandbaby will be here this month. Another generation of "Rodders". Grandma, go down to WalMart and get that kid a set of wheels "stroller".
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
