Sad day in Tampa, Florida
Two officers were killed this morning.
Our prayers go out to their familys.
They just caught the women and are still looking for the guy.

I saw that on TV this morning, but where I was there was no sound on the TV so I didn't realize where it was. Horrible, simply horrible. What a dangerous job cops have, and I think people are getting bolder and more violent, they will shoot you for no reason any more.
Same thing happened down here a while back, a young officer named Widman was shot and killed. I had met and spoken with him one time when he responded to a disturbance in our neighborhood. Just a super nice, young man who was trying to make the world a better, safer place for us regular folks.
My heart goes out to their families and fellow officers, and I hope the suspects resist when cornered and save us the trouble of a trial.

I just watched this story on the 5:00 oclock news. They have the female driver in custody and are hunting for the guy who did the shootings. They had his picture up and what a worthless looking POS he is. I can't wait till they get him.

This is getting all to commonplace,we have been no stranger to it here in Arizona as of late too.I hope justice is done to the scum who did this.Thankfully the families will have plenty of support in their time of need and lots of prayers to get thru this.

That is a terrible thing, they were just doing their job like everyone else but they are targets for the sum bags that don’t work. Our small town is going through a trail where young punks had a shoot out with the police, fortunately no one was killed but they sure tried.
Human life is not valued today because so much crime.
Prayers go out to the Family and friends of the Officers.

Well hopefully they will catch him soon they put up a $95,000 doller reward for information leading to his arrest. I hope they get him before he hurts someone else.
Here is a photo of him. Kurt

This piece of garbage should have been put away for life a long time ago. Look at his rap sheet:
Morris's rap sheet from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is 14 pages long. It shows his criminal career began in August 2002 with a charge of disturbing the peace. Days later, he was charged with vehicle theft. Weeks later, records indicate trouble for Battery, Drug Possession, and weapons charges.
In May of 2003, he was charged with resisting an officer. Then he was sentenced to 9 months in prison on cocaine charges.
After being released, he was charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery, attempted robbery and possession of a short barreled shot gun.
He was found not guilty.
There were violations of probation. Carjacking. Then more cocaine charges. He was released from prison in April after serving two years for cocaine possession and with intent to sell.
I would love to see us buy up some remote, shark infested island somewhere and put jerks like him there with all their buddies. Let them grow their own food, build their own shacks, and kill each other to their hearts content. Our air conditioned, cable TV'd, 3 square meals a day prisons aren't doing their job and are like a country club for most of these idiots. You watch them on TV and going to jail is like a normal life event for them.

I know what you are thinking Kurt, and I agree. There was a kid down here who had been arrested 57 times for stealing cars. Don't you think after maybe 56 times the Judge would figure there is no hope for this guy and just put his *** away forever?

I hate to say it but my son broke in to a guys car back some years ago.
And the the guy and his buddies caught him or chased him down hit him with a car and then got out a beat the crap out of him. My wife was all up set about it saying they didn't have to do that! You know what I said, He's lucky it was not my car, I would have broken his legs or put him in the hospital. He got what he deserved.
Now don't get me wrong I love my son, but whats is right is right.
Those guys did everyone a favor because he's been on the straite and narrow ever since. And if he would have gotten away with it, he would have never changed.
You've got parent that say not my child or don't touch my kid.
Then people are afraid to say anything to the kids or the parents.
Not me you see one of my kids miss behaven when I am not around kick him in the but then he will see he can't get away with it just because I am not there.
Remember the old saying, It takes a whole village to raise a kid!!
I don't want to make someone else raise my kids, But I will take any help I can get.
So to the guys that whipped his butt, Thanks You truly did everyone a favor.

Really sad news. We had three police officers shot in Oakland a few days ago, right on the eve of 80 to 150 officers layoffs in Oakland. The police chief said, losing even one officer is too many, you should be hiring more!
It seems all too familiar a story, that these guys when they are finally caught
have a record a mile long. Locally last year a drunk on a motorcycle hit and killed a young girl, and crippled her father. He was so wasted he kept yelling at the people on the scene for help, ignoring what he just did to the man and his daughter. He continued to be beligerant at my hospital where he was treated for his injuries over the couse of the next week. The man had 7 DUI's. I think that was six too many! It does seem people have lowered thier standards as to what is acceptable today. I wish three strikes really was three strike and your out. Hey Don, maybe we should pitch in and start that Island fund. We can find some barely hospitable alligator infested, shark surrounded island, and let them kill each other as mentioned above. Then we can employ some now unemployed shrimpers from lousianna to chum the waters!
Again I am really sorry to hear this news and hope for swift justice." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

My preference would be an island even less hospitable than that, something like Baffin Island (although it would be a shame to upset the native population there so maybe something smaller and unpopulated.) Air lift serious criminals in, drop them with or without parachute and leave them to deal with cold, polar bears and no supplies. If they can survive and make it back to the mainland (highly unlikely) they would be eligible for parole.Remember, Freedom isn't Free, thousands have paid the price so you can enjoy what you have today.

This is indeed a very sad story, and I hope the piece of excrement is found quickly,he obviously has to be stopped as his outlook on life sucks big time..Why has he been able to build such a record is beyond me,though I suppose the PC brigade, and luxurious prisons[yes,we have those too],have helped..He has a better life inside, than out on the street..I think more prisons like Sheriff Joes joint in Arizona, and a few freezing northern islands would keep prison population down..
Good idea Resto,a low swoop with a chopper,at about 50 feet,no parachute...whoops,oh dear..
Seriously though,I read the article last night, and, while I know its the nature of the job, these poor guys, and all the others who have been killed, wounded in the name of decency, law etc dont deserve what they get,,its just down right sickening. My own wife works in an administration roll at the front of the Police station, and in the early days of our marriage,I used to get quite anxious for her safety,I still do,but i cant alter what could happen..Our prayers go out to these poor guys families, and the others mentioned in this thread as well, who have suffered recently..
