Smart Dog. This has been one hot and humid Summer so far, this is when I start looking forward to Winter. It's too hot at my age to work outside and the garage has 7 ceiling fans and one window air conditioner still too hot. I put a belt on the riding mower and had to give up. Yesterday I did a little cleaning and moved the 50 Ford to make more room so I can get some primer on it then it's going up for sale.

HA! HA! HA! Thats a great Photo!!!
I've got a kiddie pool out on my front Veranda and my puppy
boxers just dive in like it's no big deal.
Ten of them bouncing around in the water is a blast to watch.
Then my big male gets in lays down and puts his whole head
under the water and keeps it there for 10 ro 15 seconds.
I have never seen a dog that put his head under the water like he does,
I hope the puppies pick it up or learn it from their Papa.

Thanks Uncle Bob for the great photo and for bringing a smile to my face this morning. We are into winter downunder and have just had a week of heavy frosts resulting in black ice on some of our roads, I think 2 or 3 people have been killed in car crashes so far from driving onto black ice and crashing.
When Mother gets out of the shower and is warmly dressed I will show her that photo as she enjoys your animal photos that have been posted, thanks.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

thats a great picture!
I was working this last month in the Mississippi Delta doing dredging for that "Berm project" around the oil spill.
Anyway, dunno what it was outside, but my engine room hit an all time high of 136degrees. Hard for a man to breathe really.
Least now I'm home in nice cool south Georgia, sitting in my shop, drinking a beer, with my 6year old son nagging me to take him to the drag strip.... life is good.

Not as hot here is southern Arizona, as in Lake Havasu, but we are at that awkward point where we got enough rain to raise the humidity... but not enough to lower the temps. Should be better next week.
I am inside right now, sitting in front of the cooler, to dry off from blocking out this '38 Dodge.
Whenever I think of this as uncomfortable... I remember back home in Illinois, when it was 90 degrees and 90 percent..... or worse, when it was so cold your jaw hurt from shivering!
Good! ...that made me feel better! Now back to the shop! :-)

HOTRODPAINT
I’ll agree with you living across the State line but worked in Illinois for over 40 years. When it’s HOT It’s Hot and when it’s COLD it’s COLD. Forty-three years I wanted to go someplace to get out of the extreme conditions but I’m still here complaining. We were in Arizona when it was 112 that was too hot for me, people would say but there is no humidity. I could hardly breath it was so hot.
I put a can of freon in the daily driver today; it’s bad when the air conditioner is not putting out cold air. When I was working I didn’t have one car or truck all of those years that had air conditioning and it was a real treat sitting in traffic on the Dan Ryan in the 60's with the exhaust coming from all sides in the open windows.

That's a good picture, Bob. I do hope you are not here in Las Vegas right now, if you have the option of being in Washington.
Just for the record, and general info for those who aren't real familiar with this place, it's HOT!! I think we're havin' a heatwave! We have a temperometer on our patio on the north side of the house in the shade, and the temps out there are beastly; got up to 118 on the 14th, but it is a metal roof; we're out northwest near the North Las Vegas Airport. The official high that day was only 110. We were gone to SoCal last week (like to have froze down there, the daytime temps were only in the high seventies) and our son was looking after the critters, and told me it had gotten over 110 every day. The stick thermo he carries on his truck got up to over 130 out in the sun on an asphalt and concrete gas station apron where he was making a drop. On our way home on Wednesday, it was 114 in Baker, CA, at four in the afternoon. The guessers are predicting at least another week of this mess - 108 to 114, depending on who is doing the guessing. As a general rule, it gets hotter down along the river in Bullhead/Laughlin and Lake Havasu, and on Lake Mead. In AZ, Phoenix is almost always a degree or two hotter than Las Vegas, but sometimes, things get switched around, too. I know that the weather in other parts of the country is some warm, too, so you all just keep cool, and don't overdo it and get heat disease.Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
